Your not using clamp correct the parts you turn to tighten should be on a joint not as you have it placed loose on this hexagon project. I've always used biscuits on hexagons gives great strength and holds all pieces in place while clamping up. Also to stop getting glue on clamp put sellotape over each joint after glueing before clamping.

We planted a peach tree this spring, had 10 peaches on it, next week they were all eaten! So I am going to try this next year, I am sure the neighbors will get a kick out of it as it sits on the corner of our lot. Sure hope this works as I was looking forward to eating them.

I think you purchased the abrasives for the RO90 and not for the DTSC 400. This is probably the reason that they are not fitting. If V93 is written on the abrasives box, it is the wrong dimension.

Hey Steve, really appreciate the video. I also have the same bandsaw and need to upgrade the guide. Being a few years later and wiser, do you still recommend the same Carter kit you attached on the video? Any chance they made a newer version with a longer casing to cover the entire 12” of the blade?

I have this same DX pro bandsaw and carter mag fence. I picked my DX up for a steal of a price used. The next day I picked up a 2x12 just to test it out. With a 3/4" Wood slicer resaw blade it resawed a 2x12 like it wasn't even there. I have tried to resaw a 2x12 on a 1 Hp Jet jwbs cs bandsaw and a 1 Hp Grizzly G0555. Neither one of them had a prayer of resawing a 2x12. It is unbelievable how superior the DX Pro is with just a quarter Hp bigger motor. Very good bandsaw! I love it!

I’ll try this with my apple and pear trees. Squirrels are picking the fruit off before it’s ripe. They’ve even started picking them now, when they’re barely larger than a quarter.

Good stuff,refreshing my memory, havent used that method in awhile. id use to do those marks like that when im patching and sanding ceilings sometimes if the lights not good. Whats the best clear coat sealer youve used for outside works? I built a cedar birdbox and would like to keep the natural look but still seal it with a good clear coat.

Y did u plant that unedible peach? Could have plant something else. That tin pan might be something i could use.

I forgot about doing that. My grandfather used to do that in his peach tree.

For the last 2 years the dumb squirrels have stolen every single peach off my trees. I’m going to try this.

Thanks for the videos, they really help alot. I just bought a DW 682 and I have never used a biscuit joiner. I,m a first time viewer, and getting ready for my first project. The question I have is on how do you determine the number of biscuits to use and what spacing works the best?

Instresting builds you do, nice job, you gave me some good ideas for some future builds that im planning. I have the same 66 mlcs router bit set like you. Do you know the exact name of the bits that are directly to the right of the round over bits in the same row of the 66 mlcs bit set? They look like straight bits but the center is cut and the bit almost looks like it has two seperate sides. Also what would those bits be used for specifically?

Good video. I bought mine after spending two years trying to make a 1/8 inch blade run on my band saw. Finally occurred to me to buy the real thing. One thing I have learned in my 76 years is that buying cheap tools is expensive in the longer term. Buy quality. It lasts longer and is generally better to work with. I made a trough that slides under and around the lower arm to catch the sawdust, and I position a vacuum tube above the work topside. As a result, I catch 95% of the dust. The DeWalt is good kit, and worth every dollar.

BTW, you are absolutely right on about doing this outside. A must!. Plus the 77 spray goes EVERYWHERE! I swear half of it is on my arms when I am done spraying. 😄 Also, when using the spray on an MDF or other wood template, I attached low tack contact paper or frisket film first, then spray that instead of the wood to attach the paper. That way, the paper template can be easily removed.

I owned a Craftsman 3x21 belt sander for over 25 years. LOTS of completed sanding projects over that time on all kinds of materials. The switch finally gave out and I decided it was time for something new. So, I bought this exact same model about 3 years ago. I wound up using it for one small job and it sat on a shelf until last week when I broke it out for a big project. Lots of parts and lots of pauses in the work so the tool shouldn't have overheated. But it did. It bogged down suddenly and then started to smoke. I let it cool down and blew it out with compressed air. It ran for about 3 minutes at speed and then bogged down and took another smoke break. At that point, I decided to take it apart to see what was going on. After cracking open the main body, I was surprised to see dust in every nook and cranny including the gearbox. Then I went on CZcams and found a video showing the same problem occurred for another guy only the overheating also melted the bearing containment. i loved how it handled but the "engineering" behind it is terrible. I found a used, old school Craftsman on Marketplace for $25 and it's already done more work than the B&D POS and I've had no issues.
