The streltsy look a bit like winkies to me when they are running a way from the camera and this place is so different and unusual and beautiful to my admittedly western modern Amercian eye . This was a great great book about a man who was brilliant and incredible and unusual and horrific as well. and I still use osme things I learned form it. The minisieries is nice yep but like an iceberg you miss all but the too of the thing. Look around the author is massie and it is perter the great. It oust you is the place right there and teaches 50 time the facinating culture and events this leaves out. They only have six hours lol . They d have needed 60 to cover that

I haven't watched this since 1991 when it was repeated. First shown in 1986. Reminds me of more personal hopeful times. Now I'm middle-aged and have fewer options. Thanks again for bringing the past back to me.

The acting is a little overdone at times but its fundamentally a good 👍 historical dramatic romp! I loved this as a young man in 1986. Great cast of stars 🌟 many of whom are gone to heaven sadly. Russia in the 17th century truly was backward, isolated and steeped in tradition.
