Experience and practice. As IBM is a culmination of all the spiders combined (along with some new attacks), knowing how to fight the others properly helps significantly against her. Certain armors can reduce damage against her until the later NG+s when the multiple infusion effects become problematic, so eventually, one has to learn the fight, or it becomes very hard to complete due to the increased scaling from consecutive NG+s. What's left of the Grounded devs might fix that issue later, but who knows at this point.

Before the official release, Coup De Grass and the Spider Slider had higher values and raised crit chance by 25% and 10%, respectively. The Stinger Spear also had 5% crit. In addition, no boss in Grounded during this time had innate timed stagger resistance, so it was possible to stagger bosses out of their unblockables easier, such as BM's scream (due to crits always causing the target to stagger). Fast-forward to today, and Coup De Grass and the Spider Slider only raise crit by 5%, the Stinger Spear only has 1% crit, and all bosses have a 20-second pause between staggers, so this is a good video to look back on the past. The devs likely saw earlier crit values as too strong, so they nerfed them accordingly. Fortunately, Trapper PEEP.R somewhat brings the damage back to pre-nerfed levels. You have to, unfortunately. Due to her getting a speed buff during the start of the third phase, if you aren't using: A) Finale Goo/Infection/Termite Armor/etc., or B) Something that gives an increase in perfect block frames, such as Koi Armor/Finale Parry The pause before the third hit is almost guaranteed to catch you due to blocking having an input limit. It is possible to perfect block all five hits without those two options, but due to timing (and trying to predict when the fastest flurry would come out), it's *very hard to do in any reliable way.* To do so, one would have to perfect block the first hit late, the second one immediately, and then one would barely have enough time for the third, fourth, and fifth hit.

This playthrough was done in Elden Ring's infancy (over 2 years old), but I executed enough regular attacks for the Blue Dancer Talisman to be used over the Claw Talisman. I think you commented on the wrong video. Thanks to Master's Touch, I don't sharpen at all during this fight. However, to answer that question, players often use Protective Polish + Item Prolonger to get 90 seconds of infinite sharpness for sets that otherwise forgo Master's Touch. Protective Polish's effect starts the moment one sharpens their weapon.

Beast Clergyman is far more unpredictable in his movements than Maliketh. Maliketh does big sweeping attacks that are not too hard to dodge once you have the timing down. BC however, that motherfucker swings that goddamn dagger like a proper crackhead with no real pattern, so you're mostly just rolling and trying to get him to phase 2 asap.

I finally beat him! My only saving grace was getting to Malekith right before he was about to be staggered, and then for the last 1/4 of HP just...kinda get lucky with his attacks and me dodging them to be able to land the hits I need

The latter gives 12 i-frames to your backsteps, while the former not only has the latter's ability but also gets the other three crucible talisman effects: Improved i-frames on rolls (6 more frames). Reduces headshot and critical damage by 30%. Unfortunately, it also increases the damage you take even more than just wearing the Fine Crucible Feather Talisman. Rather than taking 15% more damage, it is increased to 45%. It's a tough talisman to recommend in standard gear, but when you need those extra i-frames (or, in this case, to make Radahn's cross-slash / aerial meteor combos easier to avoid), it does so in a pinch.

@@Kapaponn It does. The number of i-frames given is slightly reduced with a medium load and heavily reduced with a heavy load.

Cragblade adds 10% more stance damage unless you're already using that.

🙇🏽 It did take some time to get used to, mainly because of phase two zoomies. Stamina ended up being one of the most common ways I threw the run, so he certainly taught me patience.

To me stamina was NEVER an issue. We can only attack once or twice always so the stamina usage was pretty low

Try a sour Broodmother Club, and it should be easier.

I was beaten up roughly in my initial playthrough. Your future encounters will be different, for sure.

Maybe, maybe not, sometimes it is the because of the way you're playing, I'm trying to solo her with a bloodhound fang and it's pretty hard since she doesn't stagger and I attack really slow, she can be kind of unfair if you pretend to dodge every one of her attacks though.

I'd stay in your current world and start NG+ on Whoa mode. You could even play NG+ and begin as if it was a new game (collecting items again, building a new base) as a challenge.

@@TheLovers-b5y If you still need zip lines, you will reduce their use (or eliminate them entirely) after NG+2 with Telepotties. Every gold card gets an extra +20% chance to be obtained with every NG+, so the harder ones are easy to get at NG+2/3 and have a 100% chance to be obtained in NG+5.

It was. The bolts appear around you or the boss, and the way they appear discourages actively attacking it during that phase. They also need better visibility, IMO, because without angling the camera down, there were many times that I couldn't even see that I was standing on one.

It took me quite a while, but anything I can do can be done by other players who are willing to put forth the effort.

If I do this again, I'm going for a speed kill using an Infused Club with Fresh Damage Up Best + Implant Weakness: Fresh as I now have a trinket with Fresh Damage Up Best + Fresh Damage Up Major + Finale Goo. Damage resistance is not great in Whoa mode due to her innately high damage paired with her infusions. One hit with resistances on will get you killed unless you get lucky and ignore her infusion effect(s) immediately afterward. If anything, if one needs real damage mitigation during IBM's fight, I'd recommend a lower difficulty mode.

According to the lore, Bayle and Placidusax had a draw, and the damage he has here is the result. If you look at his neck, he even has those missing heads that Placidusax no longer has.

She is rough initially, but her tactics become second nature after so many fights. If you keep at it, it'll only get easier over time.
