As a kid growing up near LeJeune, very familiar with helo & fixed wing overflights of all sorts ... it was typical to hear UH-1s and Cobras for minutes before & after their passes. Especially during increased night op exercises. They had a whomp & slap that rattled everything for miles. In this case, I see your point -- much quieter blade performance. But they have 2 engines now & I've seen them on tactical ingress hammer down & the engines are just stoopid loud. Not sure there is true end result improvement there.
