Depression is a change in our brains that can make us feel really down. It’s like being sad, but there’s often no reason for it, and it lasts a lot longer. Depression can lower your energy. You might feel tired or like things aren’t as fun anymore. Depression can also make your mind tell you hurtful things. Like if you bumped into someone, you might think “Ugh, I’m a terrible person!” even though it was just an accident. Sad thoughts like this are your depression talking. Lots of kids get depression and if you’re depressed, you’re not alone. Depression doesn’t last forever - with help from doctors, depression can go away. So hang in there and tell someone how you feel!
