    At the beginning he states he is not a certified mechanic, i would to say he has a professional work method and certainly knows what he is doing. Nice to see a bit of H&S with the vehicle supported on axle stands. The last guy i saw doing this job was just working off the trolley jack accident waiting to happen.

    The spring clips that took you 2 hours can also be installed in 2 minutes! Clamp a thin self-locking hose clamp around it, compress the clamp spring using a water pump pliers, tighten the self-locking hose and then put it in place with needle nose pliers!

    Super fin video. Jeg har netop lavet samme job, dog satte jeg nye skiver og klodser på ved lejligheden. Jeg havde det problem, at jeg næsten ikke kunne får skiven/tromlen af den i den ene førsteside jeg arbejde på, det var selvfølge fordi jeg ikke kunne finde den lille skruemekanisme inde i bolthullerne, så jeg hamrede og bankede på skive til den alligevel gav slip og kom af. Nu var problemet, at pludselig lå der i bunden af tromlen, de to små "pinde", dem der sidder med en clips. Jeg kunne ikke se mig ud af hvor de skulle sidde (da jeg ikke havde set din video). Jeg tog chancen og samlede det hele og fixede den anden side uden problemer. Nu er mit spørgsmål så til dig ;-) Hvad gør de to pinde og clipsen? Jeg har været ude og vende i bilen, men jeg mærker, eller hører intet forkert.

    • @Tonyottesen
      @Tonyottesen Před rokem

      Det passer så ikke, at jeg gjorde samme job, da jeg jo ikke skiftede håndbremsebakkerne, men de ander bakker og som sagt skiverne ;-)

    • @valstedmakes
      @valstedmakes Před rokem

      Hej Tony. Som du nu har opdaget er det vigtigt at få flyttet bremsebakkerne fri af tromlen, ved at justere på justeringshjulet og løsne kablet. Bakkerne slider en bane inde i tromlen, og den inderste kant bliver et step du kommer til at skulle overvinde, særligt hvis kablet heller ikke er løsnet. Resultatet er at tromlen hiver bakkerne med ud nå pindene giver efter. Pindene sikre at bakkerne holdes ind til bagpladen og bakkernes styr, er der ingen pinde vil bakkerne kunne “flyde” sidelæns inden i tromlen hvilket formentligt vil resultere i uens bremseeffekt på højre og venstre side, måske ikke nu men på sigt. Jeg vil ikke mene at der er plads til de kan vælte eller glide af deres styr, men jeg vil rette det snarrest, inden tromlen bliver slidt mystisk.

    • @valstedmakes
      @valstedmakes Před rokem

      Jeg vil altid skifte bakker samtidig med tromlen. De gamle bakker er slidt efter den gamle tromle. Lad os sige den gamle tromle er slidt 1 mm ned i materialet, altså den har fået 1 mm større radius end originalt, den radius har de gamle bremsebakke så også fået. Når du så sætter en ny ikke slidt tromle på med mindre radius, vil de gamle bakker kun få kontakt på de to yderste kanter set ind på dem fra siden af bilen. Bakkerne vil måske blive slidt til efter meget brug, men du vil have dårlig bremsekraft indtil da. Bemærk det samme gælder ikke for skivebremserne da du her har en plade (skive) der bliver presset på af to andre plader, som iøvrigt er selvjusterende.

    • @valstedmakes
      @valstedmakes Před rokem

      Og så lige en sidste ting. Jeg har lige haft min igennem syn. Bremserne var, efter min mening perfekt justeret, med fuldstændig ens bremsekraft og låste hjulet ved allerede første klik, testet med foden imens bilen var løftet som i videoen, og jeg kunne trække to end bremsespor i gruset ved tredje klik. Men synsmanden så 49% forskellig bremsekraft i deres teststand. Det viste sig at det venstre bagerste kabel var dårlig. Nu er begge skiftet og alt et godt.

      Hi again. Sorry my late reply. I think the external torx is a E24, the biggest I have is a E20, and it won’t fit. Point to point distance is 21.4 mm on the bolt. In a hurry or a Sunday I will try using a 19 mm Hex socket, it fits snugly.
