Theme aside, do you think the world builder books works better in D100 dungeon or D100 space? As far as mechanics and how the system works?

I've been meaning to ask, where did you get the booklet pdfs for the rule and map reference. I checked Ganeshas website, didn't see it there... I was about to dig thru Drive Thru RPG, but figured it would be faster to just ask you.

Isn't the first room a roll, if not between 6 and 12 you just make it 6? So in your first rolls you wouldn't re roll just make a 6 square entrance.

When a boss loses more than half his life his level decreases by one and he must make a morale roll. (p.22) Fleeing monsters count as defeated, you get treasure. (p.55) A boss who flees counts as defeated, XP is gained. (p.72)

Thanks for doing these videos! I've only been able to get one turn done so far. Life, am I right? Anyway, when you discover your hills, shouldn't you discover who it belongs to and then Encounter the Land pg 68. You'd look up Hills pg 89 and roll for an encounter? I am looking at the help sheet on pg 264.

Very impressed, James. You laid it out really well. You summarised the rules clearly. The only thing that you forgot to do, which is easy in the first game, is whenever you reveal a new plot you also need to roll on the relevant land type encounter table. These are from page 69 onwards. They are the meat and potatoes of the game and it’s there that you will find encounters and experiences. Have a flip forward so you can just see those tables and it’ll give you a clearer idea. Don’t forget, there are also mini lairs. These are like small dungeons you can explore where you can gain experience points and find treasure. So far so good. You can go back and roll for the hills encounter and then move forward. Nice work!

You've got yourself a new subscriber! I just discovered the ttrpg/dungeon crawl type games. There are so many good ones. I'm looking at starting with four against darkness, but this game also looks fantastic!

2d6 Dungeon and 2d6 Realm backer myself, but I find I rarely have spare time to play anymore. One day though I get to this one, the Dungeon version was awesome! I've been waiting for this series! Keep them coming!

I knocked out 140 phase 1 clone troopers for a massive star wars game (some day LOL) I did I think about 600 CIS droids so I'm going to need WAAAAAAAAAY more clones!!!!! This is great. I'm painting some pirates as I'm watching this, getting ready to start my first Stargrave campaign pretty soon, super excited!

Did you make the terrain pieces yourself?

For caucasian skin tones, I use Burnt Sienna plus white. For darker skin tones, I use Burnt Umber, a bit of Burnt Sienna, and sometimes a tiny bit of white. And for very dark skin tones, Burnt Umber plus Black. I never use anything with a label that mentions any sort of skin color anymore.

To me militia implies unorganized and underequipped. Instead of a full uniform, how about PART of a uniform, say the shirt, and then mix the trouser colors. Shirt in a standard green, brown, camo, or blue...and then have them wearing trousers like jeans, khakis, leather, even a different camo scheme like a hunters vs military camo. I say camo if youre up to that hellacious task. Ive successfully painted a couple of camo miniatures but its a lot of work and sooooo easy to screw up.

The expansion rules for 5 Parsecs really add something to both Campaign and battle and not just around the weapon updates. Currently my favourite add-ons from the Compendium are difficulty toggles, Enemy AI, battle wounds, and Enemy deployment options make for a more fun and challenging battle phase. For campaigns, the reworked Quest and expanded mission sections make quests interesting and more story driven - makes journaling your campaign a bit more structured as a narrative. Factions are fun but really more of a background/campaign element which might not translate well on video. I recommend page marking the sections of the compendium you want to use so it makes swapping between the two books easier - or make your own Quick Reference sheet.
