What on earth is the error made on Schieman's second move? Have analysed in XG on various accuracies and nothing prefers any other play.
You mean the 44 played 24/20(2) 13/9(2)? If so, there are alternate choices with an early 44, running all the way with 24/16(2) is sometimes right esp at say double match point where winning and losing gammons aren’t so important. Also making 2 innerboard points with 8/4(2) 6/2(2) is sometimes best esp. at match scores where you really want to win a gammon. But, for money or normal match scores, Magriel’s advice to grab the 20 point, the golden point, holds up pretty well. Even then though, either 8/4(2) or 6/2(2) are reasonable plays, making new inner board points, surely neither is terrible. But it seems you already have the answer… Schiemann’s play makes a nice point in front of the bar point and unstacks the midpoint and keeps the 8 point… apparently xg agrees those ideas are better than the alternatives here. A rollout would be useful though rather than just relying on a bot eval, still, there is no real reason to doubt the evaluation, especially if xg agrees on all plies.
Doesn't Heroes use gnub? That may be the reason it comes out as an error here.
