GD&T Lesson 1: Symbols, Terminology and Tolerance.
Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T/GDT), Lesson 1: Symbols, Terminology and Tolerance.
Lessons Covered:
GDT Overview
Nominal Dimensions, Basic Dimensions, Reference Dimensions
Chain Dimensions, Baseline Dimensions, Direct Dimensions, Ordinate Dimensions,
GTOL Symbols
Learning GD&T is typically expensive, painful, and time consuming, but knowing how to read and apply GD&T is incredibly valuable. This lecture series aims to provide GD&T lessons in a readily understandable, sequential and detailed format. By the end of the lecture series, you should feel confident enough with GD&T to read and apply it on engineering drawings.

    That was extremely useful! Thanks for your work and explanation. Although it might seem quite simple and obvious it's still better to learn in advance before getting hand in glove with this

    Hello, thanks for the explination, please I have a question : as I understood, a datum is a mix of a reference to measure from, and also a way to tall how to fix and object for measurments ? why are we using 1 way, to define 2 different things ? thanks

    I guess you got internal and external features, also be careful of the terminology, you are making a ton of mistakes, even if you understood them correctly it can be misleading for others.

    Can this concept be used in architecture?

    • @leo000o7
      @leo000o7 Před 2 lety

      this type of approach is developed for mechanical parts since accuracy is needed for life span of the part and to be able to function / assemble properly. you would not normally care for deviation of micro meters in architecture.
