@@waroftherebellion. unfortunately not, nor have we ever found any thing saying when or during what part of the action he was hit. Records that detailed simply don't exist. A trip to the battlefield is something I will definitely do at some point though.

@@CrowDawg11 I did find some online resources regarding the 10th, that could possibly detail information. I think if you find out what brigade he was in. Find out who that brigade fought against on the Union side. You could piece together a general location! I think just being on the general field of battle would be enough. Eyes of the same DNA looking at the same ground!

@@waroftherebellion. oh yes, I didn't mean to imply that I couldn't find what part of the field the regiment fought on, just that I haven't been able to find any record of when in the battle he specifically actually fell. Don't know if it was early on or late, or in which specific action it happened.

Not to justify Desalines, he was a monster and what he did was unjustifiably evil, but you might want to read some Haitian history. The most severe atrocities of the Haitian wars of independence were (1) the slave society itself and (2) the Leclerc expedition. But white supremacists in Europe and particularly the pre-war south didn't want to talk about those did they.
