Hello and welcome! My name is Brian and I have decided to make welding video to help people understand and learn the art of welding. To tell you a little bit about myself, I’ve been a union Boilermaker for 16 years and also joined the union Pipe fitters a few years ago as a welder. We travel around the country and sometimes other countries to repair power plants, paper mills, oil refineries and more when they have shutdowns. That being said, I have the experience and knowledge to teach welding and help people learn it wether you are just want to weld as a hobby or if you wanna weld at a professional level. Either way I can get you there. I teach mig, tig, and stick welding in my videos. I hope you enjoy the content and learn a ton. Thanks for watching!!

This is a how to video on welding 7018 1/8” stick rod uphill. Most people struggle with undercut and knotty looking welds when going uphill. I’m using a Arccaptain welding machine and I am an affiliate with them. I’ve been very impressed with this machine so far, especially for the price. It’s less than $200!!! If you wanna check them out just click my link below. Thanks for watching!! Arccapta...

This is a demo and review of Arccaptain’s tig 200 welding machine. It is a 110v or 220v machine. This video is just running on 110v and I’m very impressed with how well it does on a 110v outlet. It’s very portable weighing less than 12 lbs and it’s small so it’s easily maneuverable. The links below are affiliate links. You can use (My Link) with the coupon code to get 5% off if you’d like. Just learning to weld uphill tplates and this is exactly what I needed he called out my issue off the back with a great solution 👍 love the vid and info 💯
A true hero!!! lol thanks! 🙏🍺
You’re welcome my friend. 👍🏻
Thank you! now I can fix it myself.
Absolutely! 👍🏻
😂. Appreciate it man
Yessir! 👍🏻
“You can really see how terrible they look” lol I know the feeling. 6013 is so easy to make look nice, but every little move shows in 7018.
Now bosses will expect your work to take half as long.
😂😂😂
Thank u bro
Yessir! 👍🏻
Thank you!!
You are welcome! 👍🏻
Nice👍
Thanks
The hooks on both left and right control cables broke at the hook end. The replacement cables seem about 1/4 inch too short. Do we have the wrong cables?
1/4” is awful close to be too short. I’m not sure what’s going on. Did you measure the old and new side by side?
Not the best way to do it, far better to fill and cap with stick
Yes I prefer stick also. I was just playing around walking the cup on this scrap coupon.
Great video. Quick and simple.
Thank you!! 👍🏻
Is it possible to replace the pull lever w a wooden handle style?
🤔that’s a good question. You may be able to but the kind in the video are placed higher than the wooden handle ones.
Great video... All went well until I was putting the new hose back into the spigot.. It wouldn't pass where the spigot rotates.. On the back of the spigot there is a clip you will need to push the top round hole part of clip in and pull up.. The spigot will come off.. So from here you will run the hose though the spigot and then the base.. place the spigot back on base and align the clip and press down... Still a very easy job.. Also the hose that came from Phister had no marking as to where the weight should be... Used a little painters tape to copy the OEM placement on to new hose and problem solved...
Awesome! I’m glad you were able to figure it out. 👍🏻
Bro thank you! I can recline again! When it happened I was aw crap, but now I’m happy! Haha I did it and afterwards my roommate who’s a red seal electrician is like “wow nice! You want a job?” Haha made me feel good. Thank you for the instruction brother ❤
No problem man! Glad I could help you! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Thanks man! Always like to see one done before I screw it up. Phister sucks as they have over 10 specific hoses so check your model and find the right part number. I didn't know my model so I ordered the wrong one. They can be only 5 mm difference so be careful!
Dang that stinks! Thanks for watching!
thank you so much for your video it helped me fix my chair by myself and im am so excited
Awesome! So glad it helped you!
Thank you for the video man, this was very helpful!
Great! I’m glad I could help you. I appreciate the comment. Makes me feel good that I am helping people. 👍🏻
Maybe hitting the vice handle with the hammer would hold it in place better? Great video man this Tig stuff is real fun once you start to get it
😂😂 thanks! I appreciate you watching!
😂
Downhill all the way out? How does it go in a 2G?
Not all the way out, just the root pass. It does pretty good on 2g as long as your gap is good. If your gap is too wide it gets tricky and if the gap is too tight it’s hard to break the bevels down.
Cool video I had been wanting to see one like like this what are your Wire speed and voltage between passes?
I believe the fill and cap was 23volts and speed was 250 if I remember correctly.
I can run flat fine but i am doing a d11 in september. I have the worst time striking the arc vertical
I just put mine back together and it still doesn’t work.
Oh no! Sounds like the latch isn’t pulling. Of course I can’t see it so I can’t be sure. Is the cable too long?
@@getweldsoon1113 No, it seems to be the exact same size as the one that was on it.
@@getweldsoon1113 There’s a little black piece that looks like baby tongs with hook ends came from somewhere. Idk if it needs to be in the mix somewhere or not. I didn’t see where it came from.
Well that stinks. Sorry I couldn’t help you more . There is a piece that goes on the end of the cable tube to hold it tight so the cable will actually pull on the latch when you pull the lever. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re talking about. You can see mine in the video.
No worries. It’s further than I’ve gotten on my own. That could be it. Thanks. I ended up breaking the handle on the new one, so I’m waiting on another one.
You have a good assistant, Thank 👍
You’re welcome! 👍🏻
Whats the benefit of mig welding a root vs tig? Are we really saving that much time? Is this more of a structural tube thing? Great video and great channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment and compliment! So, the benefit of this process for us is, we weld a lot of 9 Crome and with this process you don’t have to purge your pipe. So for this purpose, yes, it saves a lot of time and argon. On the other hand, if you were just welding carbon steel that didn’t need a purge, then it wouldn’t really save a lot of time.
@@getweldsoon1113 well thats a pretty good reason right there!
Yessir!

Semi automatic is faster anyway...@@getweldsoon1113
So I have absolutely no idea how to do this repair but my question is how do you know what size and what type of latch to buy
You have to take yours off and measure the length. If it looks like mine , I have a link in the description for you. You can click on it and order the length you need. Hope this answers your question.
I just love repairing stuff, like you, but 110% respect for patiently, and enjoyably, allowing your son to be involved, too. Most viewers will be here because of the problem, of course, but I defy anyone to NOT thoroughly enjoy seeing little man being treated like a big man, and being encouraged to help Dad. You are ACE - ever thought of running for President? You’re the man, you can do it, bud, 1000 times better, oh, take your son with you as Vice President, too 🤗. Yeah, and I’m across the pond from you. You could run for Prime Minister here in the U.K. - best candidate I’ve seen yet. Someone with a real heart who can put a country back together again, and is a loving, kind, and thoughtful father. 👏👍
Wow! That’s definitely the best and most kind comment I ever had. I appreciate that but I don’t t know about running for president. 😂😂 I’m glad you liked the video and thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Man, I messed up my t beam so badly. I burned right through it. Took me 8 hours to get a decent weld
That stinks! In time you will learn to stop and let it cool when it’s getting too hot. The more you burn the more you learn.
I always enjoy watching
Thanks I really appreciate it. 👍🏻
Really good video, subscribed 👌
Thank you! 😁
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much. Worked like a charm!!!
Awesome! It’s always good to hear that I’ve helped someone! Thanks for watching and the comment! 👍🏻
Does anybody have advice? My recliner chair trigger is to hard to pull so the cable just can’t activate the mechanism to release it. I’ve tried replacing the cable and tried to see what’s wrong with it but I can’t.
bro got Buff AF since I first see you running that 2" coupon 😂
😂😂😂 I appreciate the compliment! 👍🏻
You're the man, dude. You just saved me 1600 on a new loveseat with console.
Awesome! I’m glad my video helped you. 👍🏻
Great tutorial, arc shots and technique young man. I must admit, I need to practice more vertical up welding.
Thank you sir! I appreciate that. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Just replaced the hose on my kitchen faucet. It was easy as pie and the best part is the manufacturer replaced it under warranty!
Awesome! 👍🏻
fabulous
Thanks!
I broke another cable. I watched your video again. A great video.
Wow, hopefully it’ll be the last one you have to replace. Thanks for watching!
Mine, the hed is on a swivel and that is where it broke. They sent me the entire thing, new head and hose, because it doesn't screw on and off. The porn music bro... 😂
Good deal man. About the music though 🤷♂️ 😂😂😂
Thank you for this video. Naazz from South Africa 🇿🇦
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the shock disposal portion, will definitely use this tip in the future.
😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this amazing video very short and very descriptive appreciate it.
You’re welcome 👍🏻
It was furniture repair with father and son. I enjoyed watching your kid watch Mr Fix-it do his magic. Great demonstration. I am inspired to do my own now. Thanks
You can do it! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Hi i am from South Africa , shout out THANKS ,you and your helper help me a lot thanks. Thanks for your time to make video 👍☕
I’m glad I could help you! Thanks for watching!! 👍🏻👍🏻
My instructor had us do everything 6010 first so now that I’m on 7018 it’s nothing I’m glad he had us do that because being able to drag and not have to whip all the time makes 7018 so much easier
Yes it does. 👍🏻
I can't do one stick, so lets watch a video on two sticks).
Thats great advice, BUT can youextend this to non-ideal situations, like what if the workpiece is higher than your body, etc.
Your weld aint strong
😂😂😂 okay
