Great video, loved seeing some amazing imagery. Brings back some memories!

It was a real pleasure seeing and listening to Norman Suydam. I have a great admiration for him. I like his presentation on the history of E. Suydam & Co. It may be a long shot, but I'd like to meet Norman and have a nice conversation about the model railroad hobby and collecting brass model train. To meet him would be one of the highlights of my life. 😊

I cut out a piece of paper and stuck it on the screen over the guy on the bottom, got sick of looking up his nose, he should have gone to bed. You only needed to see and hear the guy in the middle, he had great knowledge of all the products. Unfortunately I only ever owned a Hollywood car.

Really nice layout. I used to play hockey too. It’s a fun and great way to stay in shape. My brother has a switching layout and you provided some great ideas.

Question: The complete car number does not show when I print a car list just the last 4 digits. How do I get the whole number to show? ===================================================== With 4 numbers 1234 and a 2 letters code on a yellow 40’ UP Box car the user doesn’t need numbers. The last 4 numbers are a way of checking to make sure, that it is correct. The operator can report back as: “UP Box 1234” or “UP Box BA” or “UP Box Ba” the small “a” code is other cars will stay coupled to this car, and they can have the same car number 561234 or just 1234 and Code BC Now if you really want a printout of your true car numbers, they can be put into a car spread sheet by the JMRI program. The code is: “UP1 561234” “UP2 561234” for Car ID. The problem in JMRI is Car ID can’t have the same Number. But UP 1234BC can work for 20 cars having the same number. Where B= Box and A to W= 20 cars same number. I save X for extra locomotives, Y for special cars and Z for the Cabooses that the program can’t find. Take a real Caboose number of, A to W, use Z code, put the fake Caboose where the program needs it. Robert Frey

Great video all the rail ferry between Wisconsin and Michigan. I know you're trying to model the boats of that ferry system have you ever thought how about the rail barge that runs between Alabama USA to Mexico it has up to 13 tracks on it double deck barge. I know what the video is about that you're doing is just a suggestion that I'm giving I hope it comes out great what you doing do you have a CZcams video page that I can watch the progression of that layout of yours.

Great explanation! I am 68 and remember some of this. I live 60 miles south of Kewaunee but saw the Manitowoc car ferry many times, when they had two slips with a ramp to the upper deck for cars. I could tell you a story but I enjoyed yours much more. Thank you again and sure missed Trainfest this year. I belong to the SSSMRE in Sheboygan. It is not much but it is ours.

Don’t forget to support the hobby and it’s manufactures in this unfortunate time if you are able. Stay well. Next couple of weeks I’ll spend in the basement.
