I want to learn how to make all sizes of this.. i want to be that guy that can make gadgets like this to impress my friends and prepare for survival situations.

My biggest gripe with the dpad is how it sinks if you press it at the middle for no reason, no dpad from Nintendo ever done that, I'm looking for a mod that helps with that too, but in the meantime this one will also help

That's a nice little project. Note that the electronic equipment will receive a step up voltage from 5v to the desired voltage. If you are using a µC anyways, why not use a digital temperature sensor?

I usually just hook my breadboards up to my john deere with jumper cables. Perfect everytime for all voltages because i vary the output with my throttle cable. Lol

The conical tip heats the same. The "problem" is that it doesn't have enough surface to easily touch both the pad and the leg of your component, at the same time, to obtain a good solder joint. Still, it can be used with ease!
