Essential Wing Chun Drill- Pak Larp Drill
zhlédnutí 558Před měsícem
@wingchunbrothers #wingchun #selfdefense #martialarts One of the essential Wing Chun drills uses two blocks, Pak Sao and Larp Sao. It starts from a neutral stance. With this drill you practice blocking and attacking simultaneously, you train to protect your guard, your center line, and vital points on your body. It is a drill that can improve your hand speed, coordination, and accuracy.
Center line - Wing Chun core fighting principle
zhlédnutí 991Před měsícem
@wingchunbrothers #wingchun #kungfu The centreline is a straight line drawn from the center of the Wing Chun exponent's body to the center of their opponent's body. It is the shortest and most direct path to attack and defend. Also, the center line vertical meaning is an imaginary line that divides your body into two halves, on that line major vital points are located, such as the throat, eyes,...

Master Wong’s Narration The kind of fighting I am referring to in this article is not that which one might see in the boxing ring, because this kind of fight has been restricted by all kinds of rules and regulations, turning it into a game or sport which is far removed from real combat. What I am referring to here is the "real fight", free of rules and restrictions, whether it be as the result of a conflict, or by mutual agreement. Because fighting is relative, the opponent's build and strength can and will directly affect the result of the conflict, therefore it is difficult to assume to know the outcome. The classic Chinese Art of War by Sun Tzu states, "In warfare, first lay plans which will ensure victory, and then lead your army to battle; if you will not begin with stratagem, but rely on brute strength alone, victory will no longer be assured." Each of these approaches can affect its counterpart in terms of cause and effect. Indeed, when it comes to the business of fighting, I fear that in an article of this size there is still much that cannot be adequately dealt with. But now I would like to discuss the most common mistakes made by Ving Tsun practitioners so we can learn to avoid them. Chi Sau The chi Sau (sticky hands) exercise is a reflex training drill that must be practised repeatedly to develop skilful, quick and alert responses to satisfy the basic, essential requirements of the Ving Tsun system (i.e., receive what comes; pursue what departs; when the hands are freed of obstructions, attack instinctively). These are basic but profound principles which, when properly understood and drilled through chi Sau, prepare the Ving Tsun practitioner both mentally as well as physically for what should take place when one engages with the enemy and so, one gets into the contact condition from the very start. If detailed explanations are not given to the novice student, he will tend to overindulge the skill of Chi Sau, inventing his own interpretations until he ends up following a totally incorrect form of Chi Sau which leads them straying from the intended path. For example, too much emphasis on the idea of "sticking to the hands" will cause such bad habits as "chasing the hands" of the opponent and thus totally contradict one of Ving Tsun’s most basic fighting principles. At the beginning of the "young idea" (siu nim tau) form, one is taught the concept of "chi ying", or facing the opponent square-on, to facilitate favourable positioning even before the fight has commenced, allowing punches to be thrown along the shortest possible line with the most direct attack made on the opponent prior to contact being made with each other Never is one asked in the basic form to consider doing "sticky hands" with the enemy; the range of motion possible by the hands is so wide that if one goes about "chasing the hands", the result is like a children's game - you go left because he makes a sudden turn left, then you go right as he does. The result is that you always allow your enemy to dictate your actions, ending up in a passive position and unable to attack your intended target so, when fighting, one should fix one's eyes firmly on the target with only one idea in mind; that of attacking the enemy most simply and directly. Fight the opponent, not his arms. It is only if your attack meets with an obstruction that you have to change to attain your goal and this is where "sticky hands" comes into play, as a means to an end, with that end being the winning of the fight. The strike-second philosophy. Winning or losing often depends on who watches for his chance to attack the enemy first when both sides are fighting. As Sun Tzu said, "When an invading force crosses a river in its onward march, it is best to let half the army get across, and then deliver your attack." You will reap twice the result with half the effort if the attack is launched with such favourable timing as the opponent's intention, developments and movements can all be readily determined. Should this strategy be applied, the opponent will find it especially difficult to co-ordinate his body, making advance or retreat virtually impossible and the loss of the fight by him inevitable. A common error made by inexperienced Ving Tsun practitioners is to throw their punches from too far away, leaving a lot of distance between their opponent and themselves. When engaged in combat with opponent never be impatient. Do not launch an attack until there's a distance of one step between you and your enemy, then launch a sudden attack so as to force the enemy to be caught totally unprepared. Launching a sudden attack in this way, one gains the advantage of an extra step toward the enemy, making it extremely difficult for him to react in time, the result normally being a feeble attempt to move half a step to the right or left, or else retreat straight backward. This makes it easy to remain in contact with the enemy, maintaining control of the situation by affecting the enemy's balance and positioning. You, therefore, avoid giving him the chance to attack first and take away his opportunity to manage the situation.

You guys are just fine, don't worry about what the guy above said. If he wants to see that he would post his own video.😅
Thanks man we appreciate that!❤
The guy is actually right. You're accusing him if being jealous. He was being intellectually honest. He only meant to help. I agree with the guy, too far.
That is his and your truth, this is just a drill not combat, we spar at least 1 time weekly distance is perfect, we train realistic combat techniques that can be used in combat not sheets like seniors in park @@aaronhuang8640
You boys are too far away from eachother. Try and be a bit closer, take eachothers space, and introduce some leg to leg contact. You can make a leg bridge at the shins by entering with a bong gerk. 2¢
Once one of us is in, its over for the other guy,its the nature of Wing Chun. So we keep it light in order to continue with the flow and to have fun. One of us did with the leg exactly what you said, and video is cut in that moment, can you see where?😃 We try not to storm in on each other, we dont use protective gear and our weight is 122 and 132 kg. Its not fun to be hit fast with that kind of mass behind. Also ground is uneven so its hard to sweep legs around, but we need to adapt, yes? Thanks for your comment.
The drill done with the slashing elbow was OK. Correct distance at a controlled speed.
@@wingchunbrothers But you strike at long range before you go in! That wastes energy. Read Wong Shun Leung's article "Beimo" about distance. You are executing Ving Tsun at the range that many other martial arts like - Karate, Boxing etc..
@@clivepotter2511 We play around on the distance without entering, because that would stop our flow, once you are in you have to finish. Its diffrent approach. We can do it that way but we are trying somenthing else here.
@@wingchunbrothers Honestly they're kind of missing the part of sparring, even ignoring the fact that the sparring you're doing is actually effective & goes beyond what a lot of what wing chun instructors do. Sparring is supposed to be freeform, not just drills. The distance of which you react to a technique or preform it will change due to it being a simulation of a 'real' fight. The distance you were "told" something would work matters little in that split second you're actually incontact with a partner who's resisting & attacking. Might still work, might not. That's the point of the spar. I respect what you guys are doing here.

This system in this day & age has been defeated by everyone
Dont remember being defeated 😀. Check our channel maybe you will change your mind. And also its not the system that is important, its the man that counts. We trained with every major martial arts practitioner. It's always the same. Man win,not the system.Someday you are the better one, someday you are not.Simple. And most of the principles we use are basicly the same in every martial art, since we all have two arms and two legs.

This is incorrect. If you look at Leung Ting Wing Chun. If someone grabs your wrist you just punch them with your other hand. Less means more !
Check out our other videos,we have same principle ,this is just ment to be good fun. Dont take things too serious, relax. Drink some lemonade, enjoy life 😀
@@wingchunbrothers Yes I agree however people watching this and do not understand Wing Chun principles would think this is correct ?
@@cusssystem8013 You mean like this czcams.com/users/shortstrrQ2dOBzbs?si=P7VKhB647SrMb-m9
@@cusssystem8013 Also this is Traditional Wing Chun that we are doing, and we don't take this technique too seriously. It's just something we do as a hobby and as good fun. If someone like this man on the video who has 140 kg, and knows judo would grab you, it wouldn't be important what you think you know, it would be more important where the nearest hospital is. To clarify, if you realy train Wing Chun, you would know that there are levels, depending on the situation, level of aggression, and level of capability of the person attacked. In real Wing Chun, you don't hit back first when you are grabbed, you don't get grabbed in the first place.
Question, do you guys power lift, you both seek very strong

140 and 125kg is our weight 😀. We used to train hard, now its just a hoby. We will try to get back in shape.

Good luck with that in a real fight😂
This is training not a fight, like squats or heavy bag in boxing, or push ups. You are a loser, kind regards.
Top speed😮😮😮
Front kick is often quicker then people think and it is easy to disguise it. I can often hit before the other can react to the kick. I like to kick below the navel / bladder before "crossing the distance". Most men reaction is to fall forward with their head when hit. This opens up to a combinations of hands strike.
Good explanation, thanks!
Nice!!!
