I had one not too long ago but then in the pandemic I was'nt using it then got a 1 litre Yaris and now a 1.3 Auris and I am pretty sure the 1.8 Civic just like this one was lighter ( or atleast the same ) and to think it had about the double the power of the Yaris ( not to mention this Civic is really solid on the road, awesome styling, bigish wheels etc. unlike that other 2 crappy ones I am comparing too. Lesson learnt - dnt judge consumption by engine capacity. I have experimented with lots of different cars and this Civic was the best overall. The only reason I sold it was I was scared what if I got in an accident etc because replacement parts are expensive but now that I think of it not really in comparison. Oh and Toyotas drink oil like crazy whereas the Civic did not need any top ups. Respect to the R18A engine from South Africa

It is important to keep interacting with him in a gentle way despite his aggression and this phase will pass. Your cage wire looks galvanized which will result in zinc toxicity to your little one. That is inevitable as he is ingesting zinc every time he climbs and mouths the mesh. It is really important to have a safe cage. I understand that this video was posted over a decade ago but I posted this late comment anyway as it might offer help to others who are searching youtube for helpful advice about Linnies.

I have the same problem.

He is biting because perceives you as a threat to his/her nest site. Read about hormones and parrots. Remove any nest objects, and don't reinforce the biting with attention. Just back off and give the bird space. Give him treats when he is calm. Try to train him away from the cage if possible. Linnies get really territorial . They are really intelligent. You should try clicker training, it works wonders. Good luck, hope this helps. Cute linnie.

i squeeze mines neck. for a couple seconds. he does it agian? squeeze harder and longer. i dont have any patience to tame them for weeks.

this bird shouldn't be alone. birds have their own kind of language... they weren't able to communicate with other species. this bird needs another lineolated parakeet. otherwise it will become nuts and psycho..... other parrots yell all the time, tear out their feathers....kind of self destruction.......... in this case maybe the bird is angry, because you don't react correctly (like a linnie)....you can't supply another "bird-friend " (same species).... it's important. this animals live in big swarms. they have a "social-life"....
