6:46 I am acquiring a taste for it already.
2:50 I totally called it! Nobody was worse than Simitar.
Wow! I've never seen anything from Golden Circle Records other than a six song Alice Cooper EP called _Science Fiction_ when I was a kid in Ohio in the late 80s. I'm sure it was unofficial and that the label itself had an Ohio address, which would explain how my older brother got a hold of one. I honestly started wondering if I had somehow created this memory. I was never able to find any evidence of this album, or even label, but Alice Cooper _does_ have a song with that title and since there _is_ a Golden Circle Records, it was probably real. If only my brain would store important things as well as it does memories of a cassette tape I saw at 8 years old.
My god that golf skit goes forever and never once flirts with being funny. Edit: neither does The Dentist. I'm going to safely presume the third doesn't, either.
Fantastic , it be great if you could record a soundtrack on to an old sound film just to see how that turns out too.
20:26 Deluxe Transistor Radio Mix is great!
My brain crashed and rebooted when the customer whipped out the salt/pepper shaker and chowed down. It was worth it for that scene alone.
Interesting story towards the end about you being a stage hand... Being so close to NYC and the Broadway shows, we have a few scenic companies in the area. Periodically one of them has a yard sale and get rid of some of their props.. My boss one year picked up this really cool gilded wood bird cage that stands about 5 feet tall for pretty much next to nothing. The bookshelf that sits at my desk was used in some play as a prop, (don't know which one) it's around 8 feet long by 3 feet tall, I assume it was sized just right to be seen from the back of the house.
I hope Uncle Charlie is still getting work. 🙏
I was thinking the same thing 😉
@TobyDeshane Uncle Charlie is alive, well, and is the cameraman for the Oddity Archive, especially when there are necessary "guerilla" moments.
At least one of these commercials, namely the Bill Clinton watch, is a waste of the legendary Mark Elliott (who was on basically every Disney trailer for years)
I think this Pontiac dealer video contains some scanimation after the 2 minute intro. czcams.com/video/EC0G2TOS9yA/video.html
Something I’d forgotten about until my sister reminded me of it recently was the shoe Video Concert Hall, which ran on the network sporadically between 1978 and 1981. It showed a lot of videos from English and American bands from that era, a welcome relief from the Classic Rock hell that was radio in the late ‘70’s.
Late to the party, but i just watched a documentary on the National Lampoon, and it mentioned Disco Beaver briefly. Mainly, it was Ian Hendry asking, in a pained voice, “do I really have to talk about Disco Beaver?”
Getting hung shutting down... windows 10 still does that.
Pie is a cool whip/whipped cream delivery device. You're doing it right. I literally LOLed at some of 'You Don't Know Jack'.
23:42: Jeff Smith of The Frugal Gourmet The show's run ended unceremoniously...
35:18 Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Hearing "Soul Limbo" outside of the context of the BBC's Cricket coverage is amazingly jarring!
The mom in the pilot episode of What a Dummy was the late Candace Azzara, who was a really good comedic actress. She played Rodney Dangerfield's wife in Easy Money, and had roles in lots of sitcoms in the '70s, '80s and '90s. A damn shame that show is on her resume. She deserved much better.
twilight on the trail was Slims first recording session in 10 years and not released 10 years after recording as stated, also Whitman had 7 hits in the UK top 10 in the UK 2 number one Lps . He was the first country singer to top the bill at the London Palladium, sold out for 2 weeks 1956 , was the first artist to sell 2 million copy's of an LP, when previously 1 million was unheared of in the UK , had a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in the fifty's and first cross over hit country/pop with Indian love call, so its not just Rose Marie, also Elvis's first tour of the USA was support act to Slim.
bought this model in a charity shop in Cardiff for £20 with original speakers and a remote. Can't go wrong.
Did the signal require the wire parabolic dish? I remember those antennas all over queens.
No money down, ohh they got this all screwed up. *writes down additional punctuation marks* No,money down!
In your closing discussion about using VHS effects for artful purposes, The Backrooms lore community use this, even the 4:3 aspect ratio.
It was such a pain for me, as a teacher.
Martians LOOK OUT!
Thanks good video suscrito
Don't forget the umpteen AOL free trial CDs.
Finally finished with 568 videos OA playlist and thinking about doing it all over again. What a journey.
You deserve a cookie. Hell, a whole box of cookies. Perhaps a small amount of psychiatric care as well. :D Congrats!
I had that exact version of Garfield: Caught in the Act CD-ROM game for PC. It took a while to get through it.
While I'm a big fan of the adult hits format (I like listening to Big 103, our market's adult hits station, formerly AMP and "The Boss", mainly because they'll play stuff the other "classic" stations in the market don't play), I can see why it didn't quite work in the NYC market, especially on a heritage station like WCBS-FM.
I really dig ads and music as intro. Reminds me also of Ashencast, except without British.
Yup, that Rush CDV came out in 1985.
So weird to think that that laptop is over 20 years old.
11:54 is that Rick Wakeman?
Yes. Telling Bob Moog and Bernie Worrell the story of how he acquired his first Minimoog.
@@OddityArchive cool! You planning on seeing Rick’s farewell tour?
In my experience, the only thing that ever gets you in trouble with CZcams with video games is the music, and even then it just results in the video getting demonetized (and most of the instances of that are the big console RPGs or games that use music from famous artists or movies).
A lot of computers of this era just had really pathetic audio, at least most modern computers can just shove a realtek and call it a day with passable audio. but ofc a machine like yours you're lucky to have audio to begin somewhat.
"Schweig, Engel!",sagt der Teufel 😂
TWO OF THEM I'm glad you managed to get the drive replaced. Regarding video output, there are some VGA to HDMI converters which might make it easier to record them using an HDMI capture device. They don't like some resolutions and refresh rates, but the laptop probably won't cause much trouble because the LCD isn't capable of changing its refresh rate much, if at all. I used one of those to do some test recordings from my older Intel Mac.
Indeed. Just like Cathode Ray Dude & Technology Connections (moreso TC), he's indulged in the magic of buying two of them.
Should have tested with Fats Domino as well as Slim Whitman, just to test the whole audio spectrum.
29:10 Gerard Jones later went to prison for pedo stuff.
[Reads Wikipedia article] 😨
23:00 Mr. Food. "Oh, its so good."
That lady pronounced "Cool Whip" like Stewie.
Cool Hwhip.
I love The Rutles; I first discovered them from a Rhino video that was available at our local branch library.
Too painful to watch. Sorry, I can't do it😥😥
Infact I have an IBM Aptiva manufactured in 1999 running Windows 98 Second Edition and I use it for software testing but on real hardware, no virtual machines.
I'd really like to see what's in that box, whatever is going on, it's not as aggressive as this unit I found several years ago: czcams.com/video/Pj-abc5_Cpo/video.html
Its alive! Its Alive!.
I had a little M&M's with my Cool Whip when I was little. Now the thought makes me nauseous.
I thought that _Garfield: Caught in the Act_ is some kind of Rule 34 material. Turned out it was just a platform game ported from the Megadrive/Genesis.
Sonic and Garfield: Together at last!
