Imaging Source IC Capture Solar Imaging Tutorial
A shame - far to fast frame speed to get any -even passinf - detail. Try ajain - much slpwer and it'll be more informative...
Whats the background noise ???
Hi! Thanks for the nice video. Maybe you know if it is possible to turn on scale bar in this IC Capture 2.5
Horrible video, thumbs down
Hi, there is quite a red glow in view in my pst! Is it possible to replace the etalon for another one ? ( my etalon is probably also not the best/brightest one...so with a new/ better quality etalon I get - 1) no red glow and - 2) a higher "peak transmission" for brighter views? Or I can save my money for probably the better Lunt 40? 1) put a new/ better etalon or 2) save for the Lunt 40? Thanks for the tip!!
Hi Mark , only just stumbled across this , I'd no idea you were recording that day ... great day for me to be amongst the 'solar royalty' of yourself , Alexandra and Master Palmer , and the last great solar imaging year (so far).
Oh yeah, I gave a thumbs up on ur video you posted.
how do you remove the etalon assembly from the black PST diagonal?
what the f. is going on in the background? :( good anyway..
Looks like you got a lot of interest at your booth!
Very nice tutorial! However I have a question concerning the elapsed time to make 1000 frames. At 30fps this should be done in about 33secs. As he did it in 55secs, the real speed was about 18fps? I could of course be wrong.
Excellent video with some very useful info for PST owners. The expertise comes across effortlessly in your dialogue. Your lens cleaning regime would have been a useful addition. ;-) In retrospect I'd have removed the white paper from the desk to avoid affecting the video camera's metering. Just something I learned from long experience from producing far too many dark videos and images. A neutral background works wonders. Medium light wood grain, hardboard and buff packaging cardboard are all good.
do you have a barlow
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for posting them. Yes Mark, can you please provide the "formula" for the Solar Color Skin? Thank you so much. Mark
thanks for the video, I have the same wedge and have just brought a ca filter and wondered if the nd filter had to come out, you have answered this for me, cheers again
So i made it too . just by using inplix scripts:)
nothing like a nice sunny day for outreach....:)
Built when the Great in Great Britain was still true.
Interesting and helpful video...thanks for the post.....i have a PST thats been back to its makers...it took a very long time to get it fixed. Sadly the etalon has shifted again and to my frustration i realize the repair shop has used locktite on the tube assembly and probably other components....any suggestions as to how i can overcome this would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks Mark! Enjoyed it a bunch.
Really excellent and thorough video. It would have taken me a long time to figure out all these settings. You have just saved me a lot of effort. Thank you!
This was very useful. I thought the way you 'rescued' the surface details was very informative. Thanks so much.
Very nice. Thanks for taking the time to do it. Helped me a lot.
That's a nice crowd of visitors!
Just did this 30 minutes ago in our busted-up rental Suzuki Grand Vitara with 350,000km on it. Was a little hairy at the top, but we made it,
Looks like great fun - was Katie on the ride?
Bruce Bradigan Yeah we've tackled a couple other mountain jaunts while we were here but this one was the scariest in our less-than-capable vehicle. Was a bit hairy at the top but we survived.
We were travelling from west to east in this video, was taken in october.
I think this would better be labelled. "standing about and chatting in Iceland". Didn't see much actual quad biking here.
Fantastic scenery. Really nice. In what direction were you moving? What time of the year was it?
The software for extracting the files is Registax5
whats it called
He was laid up with a cold at the time :(
is that American action hero Stephen Seigal?
Fingerprints always clean off, not too worried about them myself... :-)
I'm shocked! What about fingerprints on lenses and etalon?
Cant you tell about adding color, the Solar color scheme! Thanks
Yes, lots of times thanks, we are regular visitors to Iceland...
..did you leave the car at least once for the superb landscape?
