Jazz Concert - Trent Austin and Charles Williams
The message was cut off in the beginning and we may have missed a few good nuggets. The sound is muffled, jumps up, echoes at times and not very clear!
I really love this duet! The baritone is my 17 year old grandson, Joseph Allred.
You need to scroll down to “The Prayer” vocale as there are several performers.
BLESSINGS.......Thank you ....
That was so beautiful!! I'm so sorry I missed this special evening!!! Thank you for posting this!!!
Can you imagine how great Mary Oliver might have been if only she had been enlightened enough to use 'inclusive' pronouns?
My late parents, especially Mother, played the old 78RPM records of Sis Mahalia when we were small children in our home, along with other singers of spirituals and hymns! In fact, my Mother a devout Christian, wouldn't allow any other music to play in our home! She was for real, and her wonderful singing demonstrates her love of Jesus Christ! My late husband and I got saved and like my Mother before me, would only play spirituals in our home as we raised up our 2 children who are saved!
Amazing bless voice and human being 💯🙏 RIP beautiful queen 💕👑
I would dispute your claim that Mary Oliver is second only to rumi in books sold etc. I think there are others like frost and Shakespeare who top the list. What is the source for your quote?
I absolutely love this! I could only hope to play as well, but is there any chance this music is available to make an attempt?
Hi
Promo-SM
Thank you, Susan!! That was a real joyful experience listening to this all the way from Indiana!!

Thank you for a thorough, sensitive and accurate, loving review of Mary Oliver and her poetry. Wish I knew you better.
Find Jesus and not hate filled separatists like Thurman and King that hurt the Black community because these men are wolves. You need Jesus too before you leave this earth. You are lost sir.Truly lost
How does one get a shawl? I used to be a member and moved to Dallas. A friend here is battling cancer and could use a prayer shawl.
Aubrey - Can you you email the information (including your contact information) to brent@fccindepmo.org and will get the prayer shawl sent. PEACE
Thank you Brent for all you do for our congregation.
Thanks Bob!
I appreciate hearing the composer's description of why and how he created this.
The Spirit lead me to search more of Thurman's life . "The Black Church" www.scetv.org/watch/black-church enlightened me to hear about him. Thanks for sharing your research. Be Blessed :)
Wonderful!!
It is great to hear Dana Mengel after all of these years. The 70's were a kind of golden era of violin students in Western Missouri, mostly because if the efforts of Tiberius Klausner at UMKC and Walter Halen at Central Missouri State. Some of the violinists I knew as a struggling cello student went on to have careers as either concertmasters or section members of major orchestras. Others became distinguished teachers. Several went on to famous conservatories. One became a famous jazz player. Klausner himself was a star pupil of Ivan Galamian, the legendary teacher at Julliard, so the fact that the old Russian tradition hit Missouri in those days is understandable. Dana Mengel was certainly one of the really outstanding violin students of that place and time. It was a pleasure to hear his concert as well as his comments on the music. General Comment: Music is a strange profession. There certainly is a ton of money in orchestra playing, but that money is concentrated at the most famous orchestras in the largest cities. Other musicians, who are just as skilled, eek out livings in regional orchestras and teach in private studios. Some find work in weddings. It is a strange "winner takes all" system that mirrors the overall economic situation in the United States. I would encourage CZcams viewers to listen to as many musicians as possible and not just the most famous ones. There are many cellist so please enjoy 2Cellos and Yo Yo Ma -- but remember to listen to others as well!
Brian: Would it be okay to add this comment to Dana Mengel's website www.danamengel.com
@@firstchristianchurchindepe6223 That would be fine.
