This served as a humbling reminder of how difficult my expedition this summer will be. Granted my route is in a completely different mountain range in the coast mountains, and begins from a higher elevation, the bushwhacking will be a very sobering experience.

Wow! Now a new fan of Charlie Hunter’s artistry. It sort hit me all at once …how good he is. As in “ I know it when I see it.” Loved the video too.
Thank you for posting this.
I have been studying the Civil Rights movement almost all my life and I just happen to pick up a book wrote about this great man's life so I googled his name and found this documentary. Im glad I did. He's a true hero.
PHD stands for piled high and deep. This man would not allow Great Bay Hydro to pay for a fish ladder but instead had them go in to into a tank. Catch them and bring them above the Clyde River dam which is a dumbass idea thus not allowing the fish to go back to Magoog. During his time in St Jay he did more damage to the fisheries then helped them.
Greetings from Montreal. Thanks for posting your movie online, I've been waiting to see it. All the best
S/O THE 802
I had the pleasure of meeting Walt at Mohawk Mountain under crappy circumstances. My skis had been stolen from the base area, and I was sitting around in the lodge, waiting to do paperwork. It was the end of the day. He was very down-to-earth, friendly, and angry at the thieves. As per a miracle, I actually got my skis back when the ring of thieves got busted! I'd like to believe that Walt brought me the luck :)
Wow so they killed him and then made it look like he burned
George Woodard is amazing in this.
That was oh so beautifully told. All in the name of progress.
It was great, nice job
Malcolm X: (38:26) Once they formed it, with the white man over it, he promised them and gave them $800,000 to split up between the Big Six, and told them that after the march was over they’d give them $700,000 more. A million and a half dollars split up between leaders that you’ve been following, going to jail for, crying crocodile tears for, and they’re nothing but Frank James and Jesse James and the what-you-call-it brothers.
Ascutney Vermont park and ride, ironically right next to the fire department.
Beautifully done. Thank you. He did not kill himself - the state killed him.
Well time to move on .state going take your land . hopefully thay pay u enough to live the rest of your life comfortably.
I wish someone would put a documentary together that shows just how far we've come since the clean water act of 1972. Why not talk about just how diverse these river systems have become since the clean water act, and why these ecosystems are worth saving. I've yet to see a doc showing the diversity of life below the surface and how it sustains the life of year round and anadromous species in the Merrimack. As a fly fisherman that's fished this river for the past 35 years, I've seen it firsthand many times. If people could only seen what I've seen, it would blow their minds. What's needed is a doc that promotes the positive side of where the is, compared to 50 years ago. If people could just see how diverse life in the Merrimack river system really is, then just maybe they would care enough to take a stand. How many people know that we have endangered species spawning in the river in downtown Haverhill? My guess is, not many at all.
Ive only recently discovered fluxus but it has inspired me as well ❤
Thank you for this documentary on Amy Beach. Such a gift she was, and continues to be, to the world. Our Wyoming Symphony will be performing her Gaelic Symphony this coming weekend. As a cellist, I will put more energy into this as I am newly inspired.

Thanks for keeping this link active! I worked for MassWildlife and often with Jim Cardoza. I helped set up the interview for this documentary--it was an interesting experience and we got to go to a screening before PBS picked it up to show in MA, Maine and VT!
Such a beautiful moving piece of art. Love this flick.
Mother King such a beautiful, Godly and pure woman.❤
I remember those old Ramsey conveyor lifts, especially the clicking sound of the anti-rollback teeth. They could run in almost any weather, and were so much fun to ride. And swimming in that outdoor heated pool typically started with a walk up the slippery stairs from the locker room, a jump in the pool, then a mad dash out and down the stairs again to go pee.
We called the them "clickety-clacks"
This is GREAT work......
Props to the film maker for actually getting footage of the correct salmon species for this! I shake my head over so many documentaries about Salmon in the NW where the narrator talks about Chinook, then they continuous show b-roll of Coho or other salmon species the whole way through.
Thanks for this. You have not only talent for painting but are indeed a motivation in an upside-down way. This is a compliment
The cats think you are very wise.
Very informative, and explains a lot. I live on the NY side of Lake Champlain and some of us - though in the minority - are very excited about the prospects for LLS in their former range in our tribs as well. Last year I fished VT almost exclusively (because I live in Rensselaer County, on the border of NY, VT, and MA) and I'm very impressed by your state's commitment to the resource which, after all, at the end of the day, will pay for itself in tax dollars. That is, if [we] cultivate young anglers to get out and get involved.
You are my kind of artist Charlie! Love your work and bought a squeegie….keep on painting until you keel over…that’s my plan!
At the very least, you will have access to cleaner windows.
RIP Jonathan Daniels (1939-1965)
Damn! This was good.
Amy Beach was amazing!
"Don't follow the crowd" I swear to god, there are higher percent of people following the crowd today than ever before in human history, both in art and other aspects of life. It is like their parents ask them what they wanted to be? They replied, "I want to be boring like the others!" I want to learn to do those abstracts with a sponge, paste some text, make scratch marks , and sprays of round dots. Maybe I will throw a shoe or two." It's not sad that they do it. It is sad that they are both content and pleased. The squirrels in my yard have more creative ambition!
And not only that, the squirrels are much better at getting the birdseed.
17:54 that’s my grandfather!
If anyone has photos/videos of those conveyor belt lifts, please let me know
Mary and Roland have helped my family out so many times over my life. The depiction of them in this video is 100% accurate. Thanks for bringing this to the world!

This documentary is about a wrecker service in rural northern Vermont, but really about its owners, Roland and Mary, and their love for each other and their children and grandchildren who return it, as well as the care and respect they show their customers when they turn out for them on sometimes unpaved, snow-buried and unplowed one-lane roads and driveways in the middle of the night. Roland was 76 years when this film was made, and is shown visibly slowed down by the effects of the severe injuries he has incurred over the years. He tells us he has been retired several times, sometimes for as long as a day or until the next call came in from a driver in need of help, whichever came first. His vehicle is a flatbed truck, Mary's a regular tow truck, and she appears to be out pulling as many vehicles out of ditches and under the same conditions as he is. Religion gets little mention unless you count Mary's remark, made as she is shown driving her truck, that she sometimes remembers Roland in her prayer, but that then, when she returns home, "he is still there." And as I remember, a bit later she repeats that little joke while sitting next to him on their couch and holding his hand, as he then tells us that without her he "would have been dead long ." If it is true that where there is love there is God, Mary and Roland are in excellent company. And if you just want to know how to make America Great Again? Mary and Roland are showing you how to do just that. Everyone who has had a hand in producing this inspiring documentary deserves our thanks, not to mention professional recognition, as does Vermont PBS for making it available to us, first over the air and now here on CZcams. G
Lovely.
Oh, that is just such a brilliant film. A love story disguised as a tale about towing. Bravo. Made our weekend over here on the NY side of the lake. Shout out to Vermont Public for bringing it to our attention, and for enabling us to see it. Congratulations, Mr. Tanner -- a masterpiece.
What a lovely film! As someone who left the US many years ago it’s fascinating and heartwarming to see such a sweet but tough Vermont couple giving everything they can to their children and each other ❤
