    I got mine yesterday, and I completely agree with you, it feels like a letdown. The keyboard sounds amazing, but so are so many others where you don't have to wait 6+ months.. This will be the last time I get a keyboard through kickstarter, I could get the keyboard through Amazon FOR THE SAME PRICE because shipping would be free ($20 shipping on kickstarter), and I would be getting it within the same week if I ordered from Amazon..

    As a keyboard enthusiast with more than 10 expensive boards, I must say that if you think the Rainy75 is standard and there is nothing special about it then, you are just wrong. First of all it wipes the floor clean vs the old Jelly Epoch which is well over 400$ second-hand market. It has wireless/bluetooth a good weight and a really nice sound. It is also full build for that amount unlike the other expensive boards which cost so much bare-bones. I really don't get your frustration here maybe you are not that deep in the hobby but I'm telling you the Rainy75 is probably the best budget board right now. Even the ND75 can't compare to it because it doesn't have VIA support. The only bad thing about the Rainy is the plate mounted stabs another than that it's a banger that is worth the wait.

    Sooo, have you found the explanation for the current price difference? Cuz I sure as heck have not. Seems like another bullish byproduct of reddit & streamer mass hype/craze. People see one thing and going crazy over it even in a world full of alternative that provide both similar or just a good an experience for a fraction of the price. The most impressive things here seem to be the keycaps, and at that price, they had better be damn good. Can still find sets just as good on say AliExpress for a fraction of what they sell their own sets for tho. The lack of any height adjustment on a 60% keyboard and the lackluster preset rgb effects are probably what do me in the most here (redragon for example does such a much better job, it's actually pretty crazy. Even 20 dollar keyboards too). At least some like Logitech drop an amazing pouch and add some factory dampening in there, on something with amazing key remappability @60%, when they "mess up" (yet to see what all the fuss is about ) at this price point. This is just all buzz on something good, but something you can get for a fraction of the cost. The Chinese always expose how crazy certain product prices are, and this is one such case. At least have the wrist rest come as standard if you can't give a case/pouch at this price on a 60% kb. Initial 3/4 months hype phase, that's understandable, but for everything beyond that, especially for something so out of stock which even makes a Razer 60% keyboard, RAZER!!!, seem sensibly priced, is just hilarious. Even the rapid trigger bit on both won't help everyone despite everyone going crazy about it...more a placebo, as only extremely good players will make gains using it, in addition to their regular amazing mouse aim. We got destroyed before wooting, and that will be a constant for ~95% after. Aim compensation is a lot more important than any of this for non-top pros. Cuz the less you move means the more you remain in your opponents cross-hair. If your mouse isn't moving like it should then, . . . A bit of my take on this, mixed in with some rant, but I really hope to understand the crazy disparity for a company with much less flexible software and only a slightly better unboxing experience. Seems that's where the bulk of the price is?? $65 ($55 as I write this) for the Fizz vs $175 for the 60HE? Ludicrous. There's even less ways to justify the crazy price now. It's all too reminiscent of the infamous Blue Switch Craze of yesteryear (and the silly overpriced "Gaming IEMs" market), which just annoys me tbh. Same overhype source too, redditors and streamers....the infamous sons of gamer tech craze. Again, excuse the rant.

    I share your disappointment regarding the availability of the keyboard outside of the Kickstarter project. For example, I recently received the Rainy 75 Pro White keyboard, which I ordered a month ago on AliExpress and paid a total of 163 euros (176$!!!), including shipping. This is far from Wob's slogan of a wonderful keyboard for just $100. As I mentioned, I received the keyboard a week ago. It's my first keyboard of this level, and I can confirm the excellent build quality and the great sound during typing on almost all the keys. Regarding the inconvenience of accessing the switch under the Caps Lock key, I find it cumbersome as well. However, fortunately, it's not a factor that affects me much since I haven't needed to access it once it was activated. But if you ask me if it's inconvenient, I'd definitely say yes! I'm sorry the keyboard didn't meet your expectations. The Kickstarter participation issue certainly deserved more consideration. I fear the enormous demand for this keyboard may have caused Wob's team to lose control.

      As I mentioned in the review, I think this keyboard is great! But also I need to say that it is as great as several others keyboard on the market in the same price/quality/features segment without KS process. So my concern only regarding KS process, my personal experience and feeling that this is cheating. My reason to say that - it’s nothing tech new in it, so why to spend 1 year for development?

    4:55 I believe that pic of the FR4 plates is of the Keebio Sinc, an absolutely incredible layout. Huge fan, I swap between 2 for my daily drivers currently. Unfortunately due to the size of the company, only 3D printed cases are readily available, but the layout can't be beat. It's one of the only keyboards you can buy in-stock with a proper Mac layout (4 keys keys in the bottom left) Layout support on Keebio boards are amazing too (best I've ever seen by far), and they offer ISO. Also the only company to my knowledge currently using the Gazzew version of the Outemu hotswap sockets, which are vastly improved over not only the old Outemu hotswap sockets (which had issues with fitment because they were too small), but also Kailh. I haven't tried Gateron or TTC to compare, but the Kailh hotswap sockets most boards use are crap compared to these new(-ish) Outemu sockets Fantastic customer service too And they sell prebuilts if you want Cannot say enough about how much I love this company. Now if only I could get an aluminum case for their boards without buying completely custom

    The part youre missing is that the "everything is just standard" mentality is a bit dismissive. They rely on a high enough economy of scale to be able sell it at that cheap of a price, and the manufacturing and fulfillment on that scale is not easy to do. There are countless GBs over the years who have botched manufacturing tolerances or resulted in boards with subpar anodization or sound. Youre correct the keyboard is not innovative, but it is great value. They are nailing the simple things and raising the standard for kbs at that pricepoint. Your gripes with them selling on amazon before completing KS fulfillment is fully warranted though. Thats super scummy

    • @getsmarthomeoffice
      @getsmarthomeoffice Před 8 dny

      I agree with you that it is not easy to produce good product, and I mentioned in the review that the product itself is great. My confusion is that we have similar product on the market for a long time for the same price. So that's why I have some level of suspicion regarding how "honest" this kickstarter project is. But as I mentioned in the video, I don't have any proofs and 99% it's just bad time management.

    • @milkdoes
      @milkdoes Před 8 dny

      @@getsmarthomeoffice i think what you're describing is that there are diminishing returns for most enthusiast hobbies. when i watch other reviewers who have compared boards like the Hi75 vs the Rainy75, i'll often hear things such as the Rainy75 is better constructed, has slightly better anodiztion, and/or slightly better sound. now, will someone new to the hobby and looking to spend $100 notice the difference? Probably not and they would be totally happy with an SK71 or whatever. Especially if a user doesn't plan on doing a ton of experimentation with different amounts of foam, switches, and keycaps to fine tune the sound signature (for example, they just want a prebuilt that works and feels good), the $30-40 premium is probably not worth it. But that doesn't mean that the $30-40 isn't going anywhere, because there is a different type of customer who is looking for that set of features.

    Does the green clay register as green in person or does it boarder on grey? Thanks for such a fantastic and in-depth review!

    I am very much on the fence between the boog75 and the keychron q1 HE. I know out of the box the boog75 sounds much better especially the stabilized keys but i like the styling of the keychron much better. after the stabilizer upgrade how much did the keychron improve? How would you compare it to the boog75?

      It is two perfect keyboard. Q1 much more versatile, Boog more stylish. I like them both, but Q1 in everyday use, Boog nice looking on the shelf ;)
