    Great video Mike! Great to see your process. With the perf cutting, do you run through blades and cut srips on your cutter? I have a BN2-20 and am finding that I dull blades and destroy cut strips pretty fast. Do you also have to replace those things very often? Thanks for your time!

I don’t remember exactly how to do it but someone on the Facebook group told me how to do it. In addition to that I also found a 3D printed guide that holds the material flat in the middle of the cutter. It’s a very simple device that someone sells on Etsy. I’ll see if I can find it.

    Hey Mike.. I visited a shop that sells eco solvent printers & was told laminating isn’t necessary 🤔 he also said the stickers last outdoors at least 3 yrs. I was surprised to hear this bc most channels that I watch that use eco solvent printers are laminating their stickers.

    • @mikesstickers
      @mikesstickers Před 21 dnem

      @@ebabylopez it’s a sales pitch. The laminate 100% makes it last longer, makes it more durable & makes it easier to handle. If you never touch the sticker then the ink will never come off. If I put a non-laminated sticker on my cellphone then the ink starts to rub off in a matter of days because I’m always touching it & if rubbing against my pocket. Non-laminated stickers are also too thin & are simply not professional quality. For certain applications I would agree that laminate is not necessary.

    Another word of caution to avoid the memjet printers. When I began with labels I wanted to get the C6500 but went for the Afinia instead but there are a few reasons I wish I hadn’t. 1) I personally think the quality of the Epson would be better than the Afinia. Colours aren’t great on the Afinia and you get lines where the memjet nozzles are stitched together. 2) The print head for the Afinia is a consumable and costs in the region of $800. You need to print every day to stop the head drying up. 3) You really need a label finisher to make full use of the Afinia. It’s really specific about pre cut labels and for circles you either need a black mark on the back, or you need circles die cut inside of squares to help with the gap detection. We bought our Afinia then it sat for a year until we could afford the $10k finisher to go with it. I definitely wish I’d gone for the Epson from day one and I’m still considering the Epson now just for easier printing of pre die cut labels.
