I was with her until the part about the sacredness of family friendship over outside friendships. Not everyone has 8 kids close in age. Shouldn't there just be a universal principle of learning to be friends with the people in our lives. But when the focus is on sibling friendship, it starts to feel legalistic. The skill of learning to be friends with those outside our families is just as needful, considering we spend so much of our lives no longer with our family.

The command to the first man to 'subdue the earth' probably would have required the use of his eyes, ears, hands, feet, etc. Our design is optimized for the kind of work God wants us to do. Wealth should enhance our work. It should enable us to do greater good to others through our work.

I will say that increased inflation and taxes makes it harder for homeschooling communities to support one another with true charity when the government continues to steal more and more of our money. We have to realize that we may have to gear our children’s homeschool around what we can afford. All getting back to trusting God to provide what HE wills for our children, not what the government wills for them. Thank you for this! Looking forward to watching the movie Schoolhouse Rocked. Thank you for this interview. What advice do you have for a mother married to an unbeliever (self-proclaimed atheist) who has a son going into high school? I am a fairly new believer (saved about four years ago), and a lot of the advice I get doesn't seem to take into consideration parents who are unequally yoked. It is hard to have conversations about God in my home without my husband intervening. 😞 He isn't exactly opposed to my son learning about God, but he often puts in his opinion, which often contradicts God's word. At the very least, my husband tries to interject some worldly wisdom. I think he wants to make sure his stance on things is represented. It is very difficult.

The Oregon Constitutional Amendment for School Choice is A GRASS ROOTS MOVEMENT - which is written in such a way that the tax money is no longer government money once a parent opts their child out of public school. If not government money - no say over curriculum.

I think education programs with little Government involvement is the solution. This allows underprivileged and diverse cultures, who do not make enough for private school, to teach how they want with the funds they need. In AZ, Hobbs and the other nutty Democrats are trying to gain too much control of it in AZ... so it's not that people are getting their money back to pay for their child's education... that's not the problem. The problem is the Government has grown too big and continues to try to control things that are none of their business. The answer is to vote differently, not take opportunities away from struggling children.

I dont have a TV because in HATE COMMERCIALS. It is a less stressful environment.
