Operation Veteran Recognition 4th Qtr

Three more veterans are being honored as part of Operation Veteran Recognition. Tony Primus, David Berry and Rhonda Fuchs are the latest Douglas County veterans to receive the honor. VOA's Joe Korkowski gives us a closer look at the 4th quarter selections. In addition to this story, the veterans will appear on a billboard along State Highway 29 South, near the Alexandria Clinic, courtesy of Lind Family Funeral Home.

You may have seen, or will see her running through Minnesota this week (9-12 9-18). This same woman, Marie Leautey, is no regular runner. She is on a mission to become the 7th person, ever recorded, to run around the world. Her travels, on foot, brought her to Alexandria, MN Tuesday. VOA's Joe Korkowski sat down with her and talked about the journey.

Grocery Run 2021

Seven teams competed to see who could rack up the highest grocery bill in 90-second. Neighborhood National Bank of Alexandria put on the annual event to benefit Alexandria's Outreach Food Shelf. All of the food brought to the till at Elden's Fresh Foods was donated to the food shelf, a total of $6,994.50. Here's some video of the fun.
