After decades and more of this run off from the west cliff area and from Morrisons area and more up the road you'd think that ESCC and Scumern Water would have built a divert/culvert to avoid flooding the cricket ground. That was the double hose box module, and NOT the high volume pump.
I believe it may be combined, but the HVP support vehicle was with it, the drivers and operators were all wearing HVP PPE and I have a mate who confirmed with his dad who's a WM for ESFRS that its the HVP, I know they have a double hose box based at Seaford but I don't think this is it unless I'm very much mistaken
@EastSussex999 ..... the two boxes on the back are identical looking from the rear.... therefore, it is the double hose box. That's because the High Volume Pump looks different to a hose box, so it is easy to spot next to a hosebox, identical to the two on the back of this particular prime mover. The HVP also has a blue beacon on a stalk on the top of it, for when it's unloaded and placed on the ground, it could be a road or street. The double hose box is one module of the HVP pairing... i.e., two prime movers, carrying between them, one HVP, and three hose boxes. And there'll be one or two support vehicles attached to it too. The HVP could have been on-scene, but that's not the appliance you filmed, that's all. 😉 Check out these two modules responding on another clip. Wadhurst were in at Hastings on standby due to a pre-arranged Hazmat exercise
Some years ago, I crashed my motorbike into a tree and woke up in the back of an ambulance. Because there was no insurance involved (I only had third party and the tree wasn't covered at all) I later got a bill for £50 for the ambulance ride (which, apparently, is normally charged to the insurance company). I happily paid the bill as they'd been really nice and probably saved my life (I'd fractured my skull). A few years later I crashed my (different) motorbike into a farmer's gate-post and woke up in another ambulance. The medic told me that I'd just missed out on a ride in the air ambulance because it had been despatched to my location but wasn't needed as the ambulance just beat them to it (and I was only concussed, so not a real priority). I told him that was pretty lucky really, coz I know it costs £50 for a ride in your ambulance, so f*ck knows how much it'd be for a ride in the helicopter 🤣 (true story that)
*Meanwhile here in america* Hey listen, we know you almost died in a car crash, but could you give us 2000$ for the ambulance ride You are very luck we didn't need a helicopter, otherwise it would have been 20,000$. Oh and one last thing, the hospital will charge you 50,000$ for your stay, if your lucky, insurance will cover MAYBE half of it!
