I am usually overwhelmed with plein air painting so last time I went out I decided to go much smaller. Low and behold that little painting won an award! It really works to go smaller and paint with confidence. Also Marla, no shade on your art for winding up in doctors' offices. I can think of no greater use for your beautiful art than to be vessels of solace, hope and healing! Thanks for the great tips!!!

Always amazing. At like the 11 minute mark when you first went in with some greens I was like jeez this already looks fantastic. And most of that 11 minutes was intro chit chat, it was really more like 5! I’ve been watching some videos recently of some super realistic pastels, like, how can you get that realistic with pastels? But then it just feels like a headache to get so nitpicky, plus you lose everything that makes pastels and mark making beautiful. Then I come back to one of your videos and it’s so loose and free, I’m like there, THIS is what I love about pastels! THIS is what I want to strive for.
