YoLink Hub & Power Outage Detector Unboxing & Review - Real Life Use Case: EcoFlow Delta II Battery
This video is an unboxing and review (with real life use case) of the YouLink Power Outage Detector and Hub.
My EcoFlow Delta II Powerstation with Extra Battery kept turning off the A/C power multiple times per day. To troubleshoot the issue, I got the YouLink Power Outage Sensor (which requires the YouLink Hub) to plug into the back of the battery so I can get a notification on my phone when the A/C power turns off.
After monitoring it for a few days, I figured out it was happening when the EcoFlow extra battery was being charged by the Powerstation. Just as I was about to log a support call, I noticed that there was a firmware update. After applying that and monitoring it for another week with the YouLink Power Outage Detector, I was able to confirm that the firmware update solved the problem.

will it pull start on propane if the battery does?
Yes it will. I'm going to show that in an upcoming video.
will it pull start on propane with a dead battery?
Yes it will. I'm going to show that in an upcoming video.
The honeycomb in the print was modeled in or was it a setting in the slicer software?
That was set in the slicer software.
How often do you need to change air canister?
It depends on the number of strikes. A general rule of thumb is about 15 strikes, but it's variable. Here's a video I did about that topic: czcams.com/video/3J8En496cdw/video.html In that video I also try a generic CO2 cartridge that's cheaper than the official one from A24.
Thank you for posting this. I have the same generator with the same set up. I’m seeing other videos that do not have the hose and actually have the plug.
You're welcome! I think the ones with the plug are an older model.
How do you maintain the battery when not in use? I'm using mine for Hurricane season and occasional power outages, so it may go a year without use.
I run it every 2 weeks on propane to keep it charged, it also keeps the engine lubricated which is important. Here's a video I did about having to jump start it after only running it 1/month for a while: czcams.com/video/ZAZut91-TWc/video.html It's also important to change the oil after 5 hours of run time when you first get it. Here's a video I did about that: czcams.com/video/hUL-o7B8tHU/video.html Then you're supposed to change the oil after every 100 hours of run time. I keep a spreadsheet with an entry for each time I run it and for how long. I also put an hour meter on the generator in this video as another check for how many hours it has run: czcams.com/video/AR0RZ-gckhE/video.html So far I'm up to 29 hours, so I have a ways to go. I'll probably change it sooner since I've had it for 3 years now and oil does deteriorate.
@@BetaCygniBlog Thanks!
@@bobbyb7127 You're welcome! Good luck.
The battery looks fairly easy to get to. I'm trying to find out where the battery is located on a Champion 4650 inverter generator.
From the diagram on Page 14 of the manual for the 4650 (www.championpowerequipment.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/200994-om-english.pdf) it looks like the lower left side of the generator where the plugs are.
Interesting, wanted to see mechanics, special batteries, and folding capacity!

Which is better to place the xbox series x horizontally or vertically?
Definitely Vertically. The fan is on the top and the air flow and cooling will be better if it's vertical.

Great! No gophers after 2+ years. I've had them in the backyard on my lawn for 5+ years and they've kept them away back there too! I use rechargeable batteries and change them every 2-3 weeks just to make sure they are always on. I haven't tested how long the batteries last.

Where did you get. The needle?
The kit I bought is no longer sold, but here's another one: www.amazon.com/dp/B07PVVQ6X6/ I think it's important to use a needle when cleaning the print head. Why wouldn't you want to poke through all the way to make sure the opening is clear?

Why do people let their cats outside don't they have any idea how unsafe and unsanitary that is?! Not to mention the life expectancy of an outdoor cat is about four or five years and the life expectancy of an indoor cat is 15 years so if they truly loved their cat they would keep him indoors!! And you would do well to know that you can let your cat outside under controlled conditions so that it doesn't get hurt or something like that but can still enjoy the outdoors!!
Our cat was an indoor/outdoor cat and lived to be 18 years old. When I was growing we had an indoor/outdoor cat that lived to be 14 years old. Cats want to be outdoors since their nature is to hunt things like rats and mice.
Why do people preach their opinion when nobody wants to hear it?
That is one of life’s mysteries. 😊
Is this trap, break rats head?
Yes.
wow guy get a proper set of wrench's if you are going to do mechanical jobs.
Some of us can't afford to buy tools for jobs we only do every few years. Part of the purpose of this channel is show how to do things with the things you have on hand.

I agree. There's no reason to spend extra money as long as the cable you're buying is certified.
Which kind of turf do you got? Must be less water consuming than grass.
The "turf" shown at 4:27 is Kurapia and it does take a lot less water than grass. It's very invasive, so you need to contain it with a border and edge it routinely (I have a reminder to check every 2 weeks). Here's information on Kurapia: ccuh.ucdavis.edu/kurapia kurapia.com/faq/
@@BetaCygniBlog Thanks so much. I'll do my research to see if it can resist cold weather in Quebec.

that's disgusting why would u put that in your compost
It's a free source of nitrogen which is helpful for compost which I use for fertilizer for our raised vegetable garden beds. I included a link in the show notes about freshwater algae: www.doc.govt.nz/nature/native-plants/freshwater-algae/ If you've ever had a compost bin, it can be pretty disgusting in general. We put all of our vegetable kitchen scraps in our compost. I did a 2 part series about our compost bin. Part 1: czcams.com/video/9s69qCreDKE/video.html Part 2: czcams.com/video/ob359dKYAfU/video.html The worms seem happy even after I put in the algae, so I guess things are okay in our compost bin.
A couple weeks ago I tried charging my newly acquired Delta 2 using the 12v socket in my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan for the first time during a 2.5-hour trip. I had the D2 set to 8amp DC charging and plugged in to the ignition-linked 12v socket of the vehicle. (My DGC has a 12v option to operate directly from the battery or another to only power when the car is running. I used the latter.) Worked fine and even paused charging when I stopped and shut off the vehicle for gas. Resuming my trip it was drawing about 100amps as expected. But, after an hour it stopped charging at around 71% (IIRC) and wouldn't resume charging even after pulling the cable, turning the D2 off, turning it on again, switching 12v sockets. I had the range set from 5% to 100% at the time. Once home, I checked the AC charging (was fine) and then discharged and charged the battery again, then discharged it to around 49%. I checked my DGC fuse box and a 25amp fuse had blown on one of the lighter circuits. Replaced the fuse later that day and was able to charge using the 12v DC ignition-dependent socket on the return trip. Don't know why the 25amp fuse blew using an 8amp draw, but I suspect it was just old and tired. Anyway, I'm glad there doesn't seem to be any issue with the Delta 2.
Thanks for sharing your experience. That’s strange that the fuse blew. Your vehicle isn’t that old but who knows maybe there was a defect in the fuse. Have you used that plug much before?
Nope. Never used the 12v socket before. I just purchased the van 5 months ago but decided to try the car charging option for the first time during this last trip. Haven't had any problem with the D2 charging/discharging other than that fuse failing in the van. AC and solar charging work as expected and I suspect the fuse blowing was a fluke and related to the vehicle rather than power station.@@BetaCygniBlog
Why do you set the trap that high off ground. Are you trying to injure the neighbor cat instead? Who is actually killing the mouse for you?
The A24 is mostly a rat trap and the instructions say to have it 4" off the ground which is what it is set at. We've had a cat for all the time the trap has been installed (she shows up at 1:38 in the video) and she has never been interested in putting her paw up into the trap. Ditto for all the neighborhood cats. I feature three of the local cats in my latest video: czcams.com/video/Qw-oBbwcezc/video.html You can see they don't show any interest in the trap at all. So it's safe around cats. That's why I got it instead of a snap trap. I have had a skunk get zapped: czcams.com/video/1KZ0D2GYpE0/video.html And some possums: czcams.com/video/YpFx2Pbcixk/video.html czcams.com/video/prlTBXqTXzQ/video.html But they like peanut butter and/or bacon bits
This video was 14 minutes too long
My goal is to show what you really have to do get a rat with the A24 trap. It's not simple like their videos show.
Thank you for the headsup
Finally it took a while . But you got them
Thanks. Each time it's a struggle. Without a camera you have no idea what's going on.
Question. Is this saw a variable speed as I have seen advertised. Not just an on and off switch.
Yes, you can feather the throttle and vary the speed.
what will happened if I will simply remove them, without replacement?
Then the 3d printer won't be able to control the temperature in the box. That's not good for proper cooling. On the inside, on the right side there's a thermostat that measures the temperature inside the 3d printer and turns those fans on/increases the speed if it gets too hot.

Yes it was! That was a 20 foot wave breaking over Seal Rock!
Can you use other C02 bottles with this thing? I have about 100 that I use for my air rifle. I'd rather not pay top $ for custom that I can only get from one place. Thanks!
Here's a video where I try a bicycle CO2 cartridge that works great: czcams.com/video/3J8En496cdw/video.html I don't have an air rifle, but I know that some of them use CO2 bottles that DON'T have threads. You need a threaded bottle. These are the CO2 cartridges I bought on Amazon: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B076YVFGKC/ I don't know if the air rifle CO2 bottles that ARE threaded use the same thread or not. That would take some checking.
@@BetaCygniBlog Ah, thanks, I took a look at the bottles and they have no threads :( Thanks for sharing that other C02 bottles work. Now I have to get over the sticker shock of the actual mechanism. I have lots of mice (I live in the countryside) endlessly circling my house trying to get in. It's constant battle. It took me a long time to learn to keep my garage doors shut, always, no matter what I'm doing. I used to leave them open all day while doing chores outside or forget to close them at night when going to bed. Lessons learned.
@@vincei4252 You're welcome. I didn't care about rats until they started eating our oranges & vegetables (they weren't getting in the house). Yes, the A24 is expensive, but it's been durable for me. I've had mine since July 2017 and so far I've gotten 42 rats & mice & 1 vole (upcoming video). The biggest benefit of the A24 are that it resets itself and is ready to go as evidenced by this video of mine where I got 2 rats in one night: czcams.com/video/bN94ym88e2I/video.html We don't have that many mice (mostly rats), but here's a video of Speedy Mouse: czcams.com/video/VeGkyv4VBDc/video.html The other benefit is that it's safe around pets. We have an outdoor cat and I was concerned about other types of traps. One key is to use a wildlife camera so you can tell what's going on. Otherwise, if you aren't getting any results, you have no idea whether the bait and position of the trap are effective. Good luck.
I wonder if one might do better with a boro glass plate and 3D Lac.
I have tried that and I've had success with it. I use the purple AquaNet hair spray for adhesion. It's more of a hassle and you lose out on print area since you have to secure the glass. Here's a link to part 1 of my series of printing on glass with a 0.2mm nozzle on the NX: czcams.com/video/ebT9K8mgxBI/video.htmlsi=UEfOI9wDYS11Ad8j I've also printed with a 0.4mm nozzle and that works as well. I've started using a PEI magnetic surface that works great and is flatter than the sticker and a lot less hassle. Look for a review of that for the NX & the G2 (my new printer) coming in the future. My current plan is to only use glass when I'm printing with a 0.2mm nozzle since I've found you need the surface super flat to work with that size and glass is the best at that.
I have to do this every few weeks. This can’t be right.
Most dishwasher manufacturers recommend you clean your dishwasher 1/month. I have an upcoming video showing how I do that, but a preview is I run one cleaning cycle (maximum temperature AKA Sanitize) with vinegar followed by a second cycle with the same settings with Baking Soda. When you get pink slime, you also need to take out all the spray arms and anything else you can get out of the dishwasher like the racks and clean them with bleach like I do in this video. Some dishwashers are better at keeping clean. We got a Bosch dishwasher with "Crystal Dry" that drys your dishes using a mineral (zeolite) which heats the air up to 176 degF. That is hot enough to kill bacteria like pink slime. It's working great so far. www.bosch-home.com/us/experience-bosch/crystaldry Also, I've been cleaning it once/month as I say up above from THE START. I didn't do that with the dishwasher in this video, I only started cleaning once I noticed the pink slime which was a huge mistake!
Too much bait around the trigger rod. You put the bait behind the rod so they have to move it to get to the bait triggering the trap.
I started out doing that. The rats in the cabinet were very reluctant to go into the trap. By placing a pile of bird seed leading into the rod, as they kept eating, they eventually hit the rod. If you watch my other rat videos in the garden, I've found you need to put some bait (in that case I'm using peanut butter) at the opening of the trap so the rats get used to going to the trap to get food. Eventually I only have bait at the back and then the trap gets them.
Every family birthday, until my parents and their generation were all gone. Now my cousins and I sing it to each other on the phone. <3 <3

One website said to not have the apples touching each other on the tree. Does anyone think that's helpful? In other words, THIN the apple tree. Any thoughts? (Obviously thinning isn't enough to battle codling moth but is it necessary or helpful?)
I've tried thinning our apple tree (the one in the video) with the idea that the remaining apples will get bigger. It didn't seem to make a big difference. The tree does a pretty good job of dropping apples as it goes along. If you were going to put a paper bag around each apple you saved from a bunch (like some organic farms do) then it would make sense. But that's way too much work for me and my one tree in my backyard. The more apples that are on the tree, the more to share with various critters: Codling Moth, Birds, etc. while still leaving some for you. I just try to stay ahead of the game by picking the ones that look ripe. If they have any kind of infestation, I put them in the green waste bin. Once a day I get the ones that have fallen on the ground and putting them in the green bin for composting by the recycling company. Sometimes the ones that fall land softly on another plant and perfectly good to eat.
Says it's an instant kill but the poor thing is thrashing around for a while!😢
Yes, It's unfortunately, but I think it's "brain dead" and it's still more humane than a snap trap that might just catch a leg and be dangerous to other animals.
It's a poor thing right up until it overtakes your attic, garage and interior walls or ruins your vehicle wiring. Come on Melissa.
Just bought one of these units for Grouse hunting in the North woods. Very easy to get turned around up there and my old unit didn't have topo maps or satellite downloads. Garmin does sell rechargeable AA battery packs for these.
Thanks. I use these Hixon rechargeable batteries in my Garmin: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0897Q3G1C/
