He was a commercial fisherman for 40 years caught more of these then you can ever imagine. We don’t pressure these big fish or you will lose them. Take them nice and slow 🍣

Hey Thanks! That was a 14 minute action clip. Good catch..and a keen video clip. It's good you landed the fish in daylight hours...marauding Sharks get bolder to snatch after dark. If it was a long weekend fishing trip..I envy you guys,! The sea was calm with just a small swell..negligible wind and sea. Well...until your next expedition..adios!😊

2 hours of heaving in a FSWR ! Whydidn't you use engine to approach the 'fish'? Too long to hold interest..hope your hard work fetched you goodfish soup!
We chased the fish for 6 miles! He wouldn’t let us get close and you can’t pressure them too much your line will break. Yes the video is long. It’s saved for my family to watch when we get older 😁
😅😅!! I think your Bue Fin was somewhere aft of the Starboard Beam..(looking at the video). If it played out for 6miles...it must've come up foward to about 2 to 4 Points on yourStarbord Bow(if you were "chasing" and it was "running ahead". Was it not feasible to increase speed,get the FSWR 'slack' hauled in continously..until the line became almost "up and down"(by adjusting speed of boat engine).Your boat's draft did not seem to be more than 2 or 2.5 Metres...so if water depth permitted,you could perhaps have held the BlueFin with fishing line "up and down" with almost 7-8Metres of FSWR out of the spool in the water...held taut but not under breaking strain. Anyway you were the Master and the Angler..on the spot.So don't pay too much attention to my "back seat driving"😂 Finally I hope you managed to reel it in ..all 108inches..and nowhave it neatly stuffed above the fireplace/ on the Mantle! That should make a real family yarn ❤

The fish was beyond crazy we chased him at 6-7knots and wouldn’t let us get near him. You’d get close then he would take off. To put it in perspective we landed a 104 incher in less than 30 minutes.
🐋🐳!! Seems like you hooked up with Chief Crazy Fish wandering the seas ever since Victor Mature and Susan Ball got done with their 1955 H'wood classic 😂!! My closest to this was when my crew had a huge line streamed after and didn't haul it in when I weighed anchor andgot underway....after about 5 NM I looked astern and to my horror noticed a big Seagull caught in the line following in the wake like a surf-rider. Luckily I could stop both Main Engines and release the tough guy in one piece. .after juicing it up with a shot of Brandy and warm water..off Balboa entering the Pacific!! 😂 LOL
