Just to explain about Groombridge station at 10:44 , although the old station is original but due to new house's being built across the old track bed at the end of it , a new station had to be built on the opposite bridge of the bridge by the heritage railway and the new track diverted around the new housing.
Very nice video, likes from me !
Thank you very much!
Very interesting. If we had more time we would go ourselves.
Really enjoyed the pace of filming, we could actually read the signs and gauge the atmosphere. Thanks.
There is talk about the railway being extended and reinstated between Eythorne and Tilmanstone as the overgrown track bed and platforms are still there , be great to see that happen in the future.
Before Faversham box closed, there was talk that the panel was going to go to the National Museum at York, due to it's unusual method of displaying which way points were set. I know that didn't happen, but I never knew what became of it. I do now.
Did you visit on 5th may by any chance? Damn sure thats me and my family on the picnic bench at about the 4:11 mark.
Yes that's when I visited , glad I did not go on Monday as the sky chucked it down.
An unusual heritage line that scores full marks for eccentricity! There is a strange assortment of rolling stock that you don't often see on a preserved railway. I didn't know of the last class 365 in existence! Thanks for uploading.
Yes it is a unique railway and it is nice to see how it has progressed since my last visit a few years ago , there is now talk of reinstating the line back up to Tilmanstone as the trackbed and platforms are still there though heavily over grown.
But it does go up to that station as there’s a little café there or is there a different one?
@@chipking6036No the railway only runs between Shepherdswell and Eythorne.
@@keith800 there’s a little bit of track across the road is that the bit they talking about
@@chipking6036 Yes that is the disused part that carries on to Tilmanstone .
cool video , got any more boat ones?
Glad you enjoyed it , Yes plenty more boat ones I have about 22 of them check out my play lists .
Hmm nice days sailing Have you still got her ?
No our friend Clive has now sold it due to moving but will have another boat when he gets settled again ,glad you enjoyed our little trip out.
I have one of them!!
I watched every move of the operators, professional to the last detail unless you hid the boobs, good luck with the season's sailing
Hi glad you enjoyed the video , no there were no boobs just a good co ordinated day that went well in a safe structured manner.
I like how he dropped the first boat into the puddle, no time wasted. Well done.
very well maintained/restored centaur!
The sails are in the tall sticky bits. You have to pull a line and it comes down.😂
Well done all of you - was watching on the CCTV!
We missed you , all went well and we enjoyed the two days .
Such a peaceful video 😊
Its a great shame they have stopped the ferry again hurry and restore the services across the river Thames a lot of people rely on the ferry for work and kids for school
Yes it is for those who have jobs or schools on the other side of the river , there were aprox 100,000 passenger journeys per year.
Wow! That takes me back. I sailed on the Medway for many years and, tide permitting, always preferred the 'North Passage' behind the island to my mooring at Upnor. Great times and fond memories. 🙂
I lived in Strood for a good number of years and always meant to take this ferry across and back but sadly I never got round to it. 😐 Thanks for this video.
Thank you for watching , when I found it was ending I decided to take a trip while there is still time to do so, at £5:50 return fare not bad for a day out.
The ferry service is being withdrawn at the end of March due to local council subsidy being ended .
Love your videos, truly inspiring. Thanks for sharing this. 👍
Bottom looks good👍
Yes not to bad considering she has been on a mud berth for two years .
Wow! what a beautiful sunrise! The colours are amazing!! 😍
Interesting video :) Next time you are in Queenborough please let us know :)
Yes will do and I will let Will know your asking after him👍.
Is Will still the owner of Spice Cat??
Yes he is still the owner of Spice cat and also our race captain on the club committee .
@keith800 say hi next time you see him, we used to be members of Hoo Ness sailing club. Glad to hear he's still sailing.
It's so stressful to see them hanging there 😅😅
When was this matey? There was a seal mooching around the creek just before I left.
About a month or so ago , we are thinking of seeing what they eat to encourage them nearer to us.
Can you do a deck tour and explain how you run your running rigging? My Centaur was used for racing do it's got a bunch of extra cleats etc but I still can't figure out an uncluttered way to have the whisker pole rigged and main preventer on. Everything gets crammed onto the bow cleat. Thinking of putting a second bow cleat on.
Hi I have never rigged the whisker pole , if you go on face book there is a Westerly Centaur owners group with lots of advice you may find it better to ask on there ..
Thanks for sharing this video 👍🏻
Did this belong to a man called David johns by any chance lovely boat no it very well if it is the one
No not to my knowledge , I know it spent a bit of its life over in Essex though.
Oh yeah it does dry out lol
That entrance looks a bit dodgy with the sunken concrete barge . My nicholson 32 is at MYC . Does it dry out where you got craned in ? .
Yes it dry's out and the sunken barge is there to act as a breakwater to protect our creek from waves whipped up from North winds it can get quite lively when it blows.
Nice video of the Medway, love the night shots. Jet skiing at nights a new one😅
Thank you I am glad you enjoyed our video, we spent a weekend at Queenbough a couple of weeks ago with a few other boats from our club and enjoyed a meal in the Flying Dutchman 😊.
Chris I heard, headed off and the heavens opened up, barely getting back onto Juno before being soaked to the skin.
hi where is that model of the mill
Hello ,the model of the mill is in the Riverside country park visitor Centre just back along the Lower Rainham road .
Que agradavel
ЛАЙК !!! 😊👍
Thanks for the Tour, the last time I drove those roads was in 1970 before I left for Australia..
Thank you , I bet you see some change's since then and its going through change's now so in a couple of years it will all look different yet again .
Greetings from John and Yvonne aka the crew of Wavedancer westerly fulmar. Won’t beat a westerly for beauty and being seaworthy
Greetings to you also
would love to own a boat like that
I really hoping to have one of these old boats
I may have one for sale if you are interested.
Nice video. I used to sail, buy only in a dinghy (Scorpuion class) .. good fun though! As mentioned in the London train trip. you should add extra details to your titles .. name of harbour, river etc Regards from Whitley Bay
My wife and I are travelling to Glasgow next week and at one stage we wanted to travel via Carlisle, then on the Avanti West Coast. We actually live on the east coast (Whitley Bay) and visited London late last year and Edinburgh in March, both times on LNER, so just fancied a change. Unfortunately though, the LNER tickets to Glasgow, via Edinburgh came out much earlier, so once again we’ll be on the east coast mainline. You may get more viewers if you add extra details to your film titles .. even just adding Avanti West Coast as well as the station names will help. Good luck with your channel
Glad you like the video and thank you for the advice it all helps to improve as I go along. 👍
I remember sailing a Centaur back in 1975. I was built like a brick sh*t house. Since then I've seen them junk rigged.
An Epic Adventure. PS I think Chris was beside a Longbow or Renown.
great weekend it looks like plenty of round the world sailing and fixing up boats but a great shortage of good weekend things to do
Yes thank you , nothing like messing about and having fun on the water its what we have boats for👍 ,
Nice
Hi Keith where are you sailing in the vids
Hi There we are sailing around in the Medway estuary that extends from Rochester out past Chatham and Gillingham where our sailing club is based and on out to Sheerness in Kent and with more experience we hope to go further afield.
