    I attended a Bethel satellite church for a short time around 15-20 years ago and the 'tuning the room' thing is nothing new. As a long time worship team member and drummer I was very interested in seeing for myself what I had been hearing about what God was doing in this church. At first glance, I thought that the worship songs themselves were fine and it is not my motive to troll in any way, but to share my experience. I noticed more and more that people were being invited in to 'feel' the presence of God without any talk of repentance or laying your life down for Christ. While the Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people, the repeated message was to draw near to Him because He wants to bless us or heal us. On the surface this sounds great but the repeated focus of the worship leader (followed by the pastor as well) was about the atmosphere of the room, or 'saturation worship' as they called it. On a couple of specific Sundays it was announced that we were encouraged to join in worship in any way that we wish, even in other than singing to the Lord. And to demonstrate during worship, they had an artist with a canvas and easel down in front during the worship time drawing a flower for everyone when it seemed apparent that we should be lifting our hearts up to the Lord. I left shortly after when I found a church that was more focused on the foundation of the gospel of Christ. In coming across this video, I'm reminded of of how similar this seemed to be to my own experience. Sad.

    2nd John says that we are not even to let false teachers into our homes (context: house churches -- or simply the meetings where true christians gather). How then is this a sound opinion that we can still sing songs written by known heretical false teachers and visibly and financially endorse their false ministries? If we know this, then aren't these the matters of idolatry, obedience, purity and protection?

    I really appreciate your insights and agree with everything you said, except for one thing. As an earlier commentator said (I’m paraphrasing here) “If you use Bethel (or similar) songs in your church service, are you not promoting Bethel? You and other discerning believers may be able to “eat the meat and spit out the bones”, but not everybody in your congregation is that discerning. There are plenty of great songs available that don’t carry this kind of baggage that I really don’t see the need to use the problematic ones. Just my thoughts. Blessings Brother!

    I'm not a worship leader. I know some of the songs that Bethel writes are 'biblical.' My problem with singing Bethel songs and downloading them, is that it gives Bethel more money to spread their false gospel. These songs lure true seekers into a false gospel.

    Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew an Israelite to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses 'is the utterance of Jehovah 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses Jehovah's.

    My heart hurts for these children. They’re going to hate church and refuse the true gospel because they’ve been lied to. Yes, I hurt for the parents too, but if they read the Bible they’d know the truth. It’s just so sad and disgusting. After feeding the 5000 Jesus scolded them for searching for the bread and not for His Kingdom.

    Having Christian’s who teach you about false teaching is a Ministry. They do not share their “hate on other Christian’s,” they are given that ministry to expose because they love them and they love the lost who are deceived. Don’t “Hate,” these “CZcamsrs,” who are being used by God to take people away from False teaching. Their “Dedication,” TOOK ME OUT OF FALSE TEACHING . Read the book of Jude and Colossians. Apostle Paul didn’t attack the false teachers, he just simply taught The Gospel of Jesus Christ and whatever is contrary will be taken care of by the Holy Spirit. These Ministry leaders do the same, exposing heresy in truth and reverence in God. Like: Justin Peters , Fighting for the faith by Chris Rosborough , Spencer Smith

    These false teachers and demonic churches make me sick to my stomach. Unfortunately, there are TOO many false teachers and churches of Satan that are praying on the weakness of the flesh. These “so called” churches are doing the work of Satan and he is deceiving these weak people. May we pray for these lost cheep to come back to Jesus’s flock and repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ ““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    I am very sorry but I do not understand how being a worship director is a job and not ministry. Why are you referring to ministry, a ministry that is so vital in the things of God as a job. Someone who works in a church. I am sorry but I strongly disagree

    • @76JStucki
      @76JStucki Pƙed 3 dny

      Why do you think the words “job” and “ministry” are mutually exclusive? If you believe no one working in the church should be paid for their work, then your beef is with the entire church business structure and also some larger issues with society rather than worship leaders. If you’re going to say something like the preacher should be paid and no one else should, that’s rather arbitrary. Just not sure what the basis is for your comment

    I’d be interested in knowing how many of your worship leader subscribers are unpaid like me? I’ve never been paid a dime for leading worship and I’ve been doing this for well over twenty years. So, discussion of hours and expectations is irrelevant for people like me. I’ve found that the more you do, the more they expect. And that’s sometimes seasoned with a sprinkling of guilt. If God has gifted you with these talents, they say, you should provide them freely for the greater good.

      You should absolutely be setting clear and fair boundaries. I made it clear to my church, I max out at 3 Sundays a week. I'm already there at minimum 2 nights a week for Jr High and worship rehearsals. More than that is too much unless they want to put me on salary. Church leadership needs to have realistic expectations, but the problem is I'm sure you've heard "10% of the church does 95% of the work" and it is absolutely true. It's why Churches need to encourage a culture of mutual service and kindness.

      I always love when I get asked to do Funerals and weddings for people at our church. They all assume I'm on staff and so therefor should do it for free. Even if I WAS on staff, I would still be charging. I'm happy to help your family celebrate or mourn, but I've got a family and kids. And gear is expensive!

      @@razersedge2273 sometimes I’d like to see one of these people call a Christian plumber to come fix their toilet and try using one of those lines (“if you really wanted to serve the Lord with your plumbing, you’d do it for free”)

    To clarify: when I talk about the Melchizedekian priesthood, I was using the language from Hebrews. But I don't actually mean that it is the literal Melchizedekian priesthood. Melchizedek was a type of Christ. So it's more apt to say that we serve as priests under Christ. Not that we serve in some Melchizedekian order of priests. I felt the need to clarify because Catholics and Mormons talk about the Melchizedekian priesthood but in a different way than what I meant to communicate in this video.

    Nothing against the church owning gear, but my thought is, if you don’t care about playing acoustic guitar enough to buy a nice one for yourself, then why do you care whether you play a nice one in church or not? I think that if you keep being called upon to play acoustic (I’d say once a month is pretty regular) you should make an effort to become a more serious acoustic player, which might mean owning a decent (not necessarily expensive) acoustic guitar that would last you a lifetime. The idea is for acoustic to become something you enjoy, as electric seems to be. Also, you could look into a nice pickup/preamp or maybe IRs as a more economical option rather than needing a $1000+ Martin or Taylor.
