I recently beat it for the first time and it's a very mid game , especially compared to tiny Tina's wonderland

i like chuck and dr2, but capacom should have made this version as the official canon for dr2. it's still the best dr game out of the bunch

I feel Capcom have always been trying to make Frank more of a James Belushi type, it's evident with the DR1 Remake

im sick that from the comments ive seen and this guy playing through the game neither he has noticed or anybody has stated how the holiday mode can be turned off and the game can be played without it. on top of that, not that its any better tbh but there is also an alternative holiday mode that changes it from christmas to i think either 4th of july or st patricks day i forget. but the point is that you dont have to play the game with the christmas theme active. you could have no theme at all and play it like a non holiday game.

Also doing a replay. I wish they would have made the controls better. Even a new RE Engine controls would be cool. It's better than what's been released lately lmao

I bought it on a deep sale ages ago, dropped it really fast. Tried it again not long ago and yeah, its still pretty bad.

I didn't like this one, or the third. I'm looking forward to the remake of the original. I had a blast playing that one. It was one of the first games i bought for my 360.

I recently went back to this game on Xbox and PlayStation. I loved it at first, but the more it went on, the more I started hating it

This might be a hot take but I think Dead Rising OTR is the perfect older Frank look and could be The Frank West look if the og Frank wasn't the face for the franchise

Damn its been 8 years already

I switched from xbox to ps at the time and since dr3 was only on xb1, I opted to play DR4 since it was the only next gen DR game I could play when I got my ps4. At the time, I had fun killing zombies but so much had changed that it didn't feel like dead rising anymore. The removal of the time limit didn't bother me that much at the time but the lack of a day to night transition was so damn lazy for an open world game.

Still a pain to play don’t even bother

As somebody who just played the first game this year, this was a very helpful look at what makes this entry in the series so controversial among the fanbase. I got it as part of the package with 2, OTR and 3 (but I just went and checked and see that it's missing the Frank Rising DLC) but was not in any real hurry to play it. This will definitely help make it a more enjoyable experience whenever I do, knowing what to expect and not to expect. Great work! 😎👍

If you really want to give this game a fair shot for whatever reason, the best thing you can do is play it during the holiday season with a cozy blanket and a glass of eggnog. Truly unfortunate the game is only okay for one month a year.

The only saving graces of this game are the environments, sound design and graphics. Otherwise a complete and easy 4/10

It's a great game and still playing it a month after purchase. There is nothing wrong with the story, if you read all the notes and such left about and play all the side quests and such, you get an understanding of what the game is about........a sequel. Cannot wait for the new update in October! Nice that it is free and we are going to be able to play through the game again keeping our levels and weapons. In addition, we will be able to level up more, more cards to unlock, more weapons to find which should see this every bit better than the first game. I loved Dead Island 1, but having played this find it much better and do not see why people down it so much. Sad really, as Dambusters did a great job.

So you said they changed it because the art style seemed too much like other games but I don’t think that’s correct. I remember them saying the console couldn’t handle the graphics with all the different guns and how big the maps were, and the cell shaded aesthetic helped with the game running as well as made the game stand out from other shooters. It was mainly a change so the game could actually run properly on the 360

Great game

I’ve always loved this game ever since I was a kid it was the game I wanted to play the most along with Titanfall as I saw my brother play it. I know a lot of people hate it & have problems but I think DR4 really opened people’s eyes & gave this game another chance. It was so under appreciated despite how much love went into the game. To me it’s a masterpiece honestly & one of my favorites of all time to play. I’ve literally gotten every single achievement in the game lol. Even dlc. I still find it amazing that the city is all in one with no load zones basically which is very impressive with how much detail it has & zombies on screen. Kinda a shame DR:DR isn’t all in one, I was really hoping it would be.

This game is no where near as bad other fans make it out to be. I remember jacking a xbuster off a sap by killing him and picking it up dropping it, and reviving him. 😂 If you are gonna play this. Play it on Xbox one. PC is missing some dlc, and honestly really hard to optimize.

As a lifelong fan of zombie films since the 1980's it really saddens me that many IP's of zombie franchises are now slapstick comedies with the few that do have serious undertones usually sideline the zombie aspects. I think there's only been one real zombie apocalypse game and that would be dying light but even they took liberties and turn them into demon monsters as the light died off.

Wish this game re-released on ps4
