My favorite live food culture is micro worms, the reason being that they have never ever failed me when I tried to culture them. They are only appropriate for fry and other very small fish, but they are great for them.

So I bought levamisole in a product called Fritz's expell P I have some guppies Pilates mollies and tetras in quarantine for the past 2 weeks or so. The one Molly in particular constantly has long white stringy poop so I treated everyone with paracleanse and gave expel P last night Just in case. I don't see any red worms so if days go by and I see no red worms do you think it's safe to not retreat since I was doing it as a preventative? Also the package says to retreat in one week but I was told to wait two weeks because of the eggs hatching. I'm assuming they say that because the eggs would be in the aquarium and hatch and get eaten but if I don't see any more worms I plan on moving them into the bigger community tank. They are eating and they look healthy so I'm wondering if I can move them over after a few days especially if I don't see any red worms. What are your thoughts?

hi i think you can get much more area for this by just printing a cuboid with 0 top and bottom layers, then use 60% hilbert curve infill(available in orca slicer). you will get much more surface area .

what about microplastic in poliyteran sponges? When I washed my dishes with these and scrubbed hard, the sponge left micro pieces of the dark green scrub part on the plate. I don't want that in my tank. I thought you would recommend natural sponges, not plastic ones.

So it’s been a long time. But just looking on the internet the coratech v400 vs pond shield. It appears that the black pond shield is pretty close in price. Has the price of coratech increased so dramatically? I saw a 2 gallon coratech kit for 189. I saw a 1.5 gallon pond armor on amazon for 180. If the price is this close now any other suggestions or just buy pond armor

I am bummed. I have a clutch of goldfish eggs that were crystal clear up to date three. They are in a small 750ml fry tank with air stone. They have developed a fuzz over them. I change the water once a day, with main tank water. I am trying to save them. I put two drops of malachite green in for two water changes. Today is day 4 from fertilizing. I put a capful of peroxide 3% at the water change today. The fuzz is not expanding but it is not reducing either. I remain hopeful that they hatch ok in a few more days. But from my online surfing, it is probably false hope. 😔 I have not tried raising goldfish eggs before, so when conditions presented I got excited about giving it a go. It is looking like this part of the hobby is 99% failure 1% success. Hanging on to that 1% !

I don't want scuds. I want to get rid of them. These things hitch hiked in to my aquarium on some live plants and now I have a few adults. I don't want them taking over I can only assume the fish will control the population. They brought with them Planaria. Now I have to treat my system for parasites as well as try to rid my aquarium of this unwanted pest before they eat all my plants and ruin it completely. I am going to have to break down my tank, completely clean and sterilize everything and replant it after everything has been treated, and I will have to go through the cycling phase again which is going to take another 6 months to year to complete. Time will only tell and I will treat the tank first and only resort to total break down of the tank if nothing else works.

My pump has to be submerged. I was going to put it in the bucket then pumping to the tank. Will that work?

Now, would these sponges be safe for just a quick wipedown of the glass? Big difference in what leaches into the water in a few minutes of use vs. months of being used as filter medium.

Will the airflow from airstone disturb eggs?

With the amount of water damage that can happen from an aquarium ill still to aquarium silicone. There is a reason its rated for the purpose. But helpful to know for other projects.
