You're right. We were selling more than just about anyone but we got so many negative reviews and returns because of the latest quality. If I'm not mistaken we got back over half of them and lost money selling them. It's unfortunate, but the quality went downhill. :( We can look at them again to see if they are better now. You can find them on a Google search if you want to try one, but make sure that the place that you purchase it from accepts unconditional returns as we do.

Very much less so because longer strings have more flexibility in general. I don't think the pitch change when pressing hard and pulling the bow across the strings fast affects cellos. Not as much with violas as violins either.

From my experience with Chinese makers, they sometimes change things to increase profit of keep up with production. Sometimes, they can't keep up with production and reach out to their local workshops/factories rather than saying no to sales. I'm pretty sure that they sold the company too. The new company might have wanted to save money in every sense and all that adds up to poorer quality instruments. All I know for sure is that those instruments that I got to see years after making this video were not even close to the one I tested 12-13 years ago.

It's a very old pedal called Zoom G2. There are so many great pedals available today but this one was like $99 back in the day.

YES!!! Trills are great for dexterity. Don't expect to be able to go super fast at first but if you can, congrats.

For sure the bow upgrade. Above all else, the less expensive brazil wood bows don't keep their shape and are very sensitive to blows. Good wood is expense. However, with the strings you can try new strings when it's time to change them. Thanks for watching and that's a great question.

That is correct, however, humidity, temperature, and wood movement over time, plays a part as well. When the luthier sets the post they do it with loose or no strings, but over time, the top can rise, the temperature that was present at the time that they set the soundpost might be different then when you loosen your strings. There is a great chance that the post will tumble if you release the pressure especially if you handle or move the instrument around too much when it doesn't have that pressure.
