Should you use LED Phototherapy? | Dr Davin Lim
For more skincare tips, check out drdavinlim.com/
LED light phototherapy is a gentle form of low laser therapy. Dermatologists prescribe blue, red & yellow wavelengths to gently & effectively treat conditions such as acne, rosacea, as well as promote collagen production. This can speed up wound healing & aid in skin rejuvenation.
.
What exactly is LED light therapy?
LED Light Therapy is the therapeutic use of natural light. This gentle yet effective treatment emits specific wavelengths of LED light energy deep into the skin. Depending on the colour of LED, light can increase cellular function, accelerate healing, treat active acne and promote collagen production. This is why LED is used frequently for skin rejuvenation. I frequently utilize LEDs to speed up recovery following lasers & surgical procedures.
.
What conditions can LED Light Therapy treat?
Light therapy or LED phototherapy can treat the following conditions-
.
Acne: the most frequent indication at Clinic Cutis is the treatment of acne. We employ LED, as well as vascular lasers & BBL to manage all forms of acne. Light activates chemicals produced by bacteria found in zits & pimples. This causes a chemical reaction that destroys bacteria.

What do you mean by titrate the use nightly? I have a 4 percent tube from my derm and I use it sparingly over the dark spots after moisturising. I also noticed with my last tube the tube (a white metal tube) turned brownish on the outside, the cream inside didn't change colour. Kept it refrigerated all the time. Why does this happen?

I'm surprised that a 100% TCA medical grade peel removed my four decade-old rolling acne scars. I DO NOT recommend doing this! I got prescriptions for antiviral and antibiotics and started taking them two days before my peel. A few days before the peel, I scrubbed my face with isopropyl alcohol. I prepared for my peel as if it was an operation. Everything got wiped down with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I scrubbed my face with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I numbed my face with 5% lidocaine, then I washed it off after 30 minutes. I triple gloved up. Then I did two layers of 100% TCA on my cheeks, then used gradually less percentages on the rest of my face and neck (50&70). The next three days I covered my face with a topical triple antibiotic, hydrocortisone, and bandages. I took a Benadryl to be safe and I took two Ibuprofen pills for the swelling. When my face started to leak lymphoedema, I washed my face with a gentle cleanser and gently wiped my face with alcohol wipes, then I used compression bandages for a few hours a day. I recommend soaking and cleaning your face three times a day. After ten days I started to use Retin A again. After four weeks, I finally stopped peeling. I used hyaluronic acid, Aquaphor, Retin A, Vitamin E, Palmer's Vitamin E and Retinoid Oil, CeraVe, and Vaseline throughout the healing cycle. My skin never really peels, it just sloughs off in small balls.

Of ALL the dermatologists who have videos about LED masks on YT, you're the only one who explains exactly how the process works. And the only one that answered my concern that the infrared lights could worsen melasma & hyperpigmentation. So led masks by Omnilux and Currentbody that includes infrared with red light are not good for skin with hyperpigmentation?

I had taylor liberator subcision a few years ago and had no idea about the risks of sagging but I've unfortunately encountered this. My face looks so deflated, strange and unnatural when I smile due to the damage that was caused. I regret having the procedure every day and my only fix to help get my face looking normal again would be to have a face lift. my scars were only boxcar scars as well and only ONE scar on my cheek bothered me, now my whole face does.

Came to YT to learn more, this was the first video. Thank you for taking the time to keep people safe. I didn't realize they were 1 time use only, and the areas to stay short and light over. All the best for everyone out there.
