    In Colonial America which you Christians harken back to as so ideal, people would self-marry by simply setting up a household and having babies. They would also self-divorce by taking an ad in the paper; men to disavow their wife's debts and women to out cheating husbands. OR you simply vanished. Desertion was very common in the colonial era by either men or women. So apparently those "good Christians who founded this country" didn't keep to this overly-romanticized version of marriage.

    Thank you so much for this conversation! I don't know what it is about Ruth, but she is such an inspiration for me, so authentic, so strong and warm at the same time. A true example to follow. It was wonderful to listen to this and gave me so many thoughts to reflect on and especially God's will and voice in our lives. And the tatooed girl's story is so touching. I had tears in my eyes listening to that. Amazing. All the best to you both! Warm greetings from Poland :),

      God gave her the talent to make a house a home for her family...women love to nest...God uses us to lead others in different ways. Raising 5 children in this Christian home where they feel such love and tradition is a "Blessing"... these 5 kids have a firm foundation in Christ ---- they are our future leaders! I agree totally,... we are called to speak the truth in love!!! Yet, I feel that often those "honest" comments are often coming first from a desire to vent (from my own perspective) and not primarily from a heart of love. We need to discern our own motives before the Lord.

  • @returntoeden

    Sun-day is the counterfeit Sabbath (Eze 8:16). YeHoVaH (LORD) Elohim (God)'s Sabbath is the 7th day (Gen 2:1-3; Exo 20:10-11; Rev 14:7) and there is a blessing to observe the true Sabbath (Eze 20:12; Isa 58:13-14). Praise the Creator who gave us the true Sabbath on the 7th day of creation, before sin, about 2000 years before Jews ever existed, for all of mankind (Mark 2:27-28). May the counterfeit Sabbath be forgotten so that the names of YeHoVaH/Yeshua's can be exalted once again for Their work of creation.

    • @tommy_thompson
      @tommy_thompson Před rokem

      I appreciate your thoughts and desire to genuinely practice the Sabbath. From my perspective, the establishment of the Sabbath in Genesis 1 is not tied to a specific day of the week since days were not delineated at that point. It does not seem to be the critical point which day of the week. I realize that you are not likely to agree with this. I do believe honoring the Sabbath is a point of obedience.

    • @returntoeden
      @returntoeden Před rokem

      @@tommy_thompson Thank you for your honesty, but I have to ask why would you believe that the 7 day weekly cycle was not delineated at creation? (Genesis 1:5) And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the 🄵🄸🅁🅂🅃 day. (Genesis 1:8) And Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the 🅂🄴🄲🄾🄽🄳 day. (Genesis 1:13) And the evening and the morning were the 🅃🄷🄸🅁🄳 day. (Genesis 1:19) And the evening and the morning were the 🄵🄾🅄🅁🅃🄷 day. (Genesis 1:23) And the evening and the morning were the 🄵🄸🄵🅃🄷 day. (Genesis 1:31) And Elohim saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the 🅂🄸🅇🅃🄷 day. (Genesis 2:2) And on the 🅂🄴🅅🄴🄽🅃🄷 day Elohim ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the 🅂🄴🅅🄴🄽🅃🄷 day from all His work which He had made. The word "rested" is the same word as in Exodus 20:8, Shabbat, and Exodus 20:11 points back to the creation week as to the reason for remembering the Sabbath. Sabbath is not forced on us as a burden, it is a day of communion with our Creator just once a week as a sign that we love Him and that He sanctifies us. (Eze 20:12)

    • @tommy_thompson
      @tommy_thompson Před rokem

      I absolutely do believe in the 7 day cycle of creation and in the weekly practice of Sabbath. I practice the Sabbath every Sunday. My point was that I do not believe that it is critical which day a person consistently practices the Sabbath. 7th Day Adventists practice the Sabbath on Saturday, I think, while most Christian denominations consider Sunday the Sabbath. The critical point, in my opinion, is to honor the Sabbath as a day of rest on a weekly basis.

    • @returntoeden
      @returntoeden Před rokem

      @@tommy_thompson According to the bible, God's holy day is His 7th day Sabbath. Does man or any denomination have the right to claim a different holy day of their choosing? Can man sanctify a day like you are suggesting to be holy,? Should Christians follow and listen to Christ, and not traditions of man. Isn't this what the definition of being a Christian is? Shalom.
