Come and join me as I travel around the UK's Historic sites 🇬🇧
My aim on the channel is to show the Natural beauty in the UK with its long history and stunning landscapes and also the many amazing and quirky places, hopefully bringing them closer to those who can't get there, and giving ideas of things to see and do in Britain.
Scotland is a big draw to me and will feature as often as I can get there, but I will also visit many places around the UK from my home in Lancashire. The UK has so much to see and do we are spoilt.
Follow the link in the banner to our Facebook page to keep in touch and for more photos. Please subscribe to the channel to help it grow and be a part of the journey. Don't worry, it's free!
The aim is to get 2 videos out a month, more if possible.... I work full time too!
Make the most of everyday.... you don't know what the future holds.
Be kind

Living in the South of England, I drove to Scotland on holiday via Norway, just to avoid the Strid.
😆 🤣
beautifully filmed thank you so much.
Thank you
Fantastic! Thank you. X
Thank you, and Thank you for watching.
The spiral staircase steps look quite recent, Newcastle keep has some seriously worn steps.
I don't think Norham gets that many visitors really, but yes, they are in good condition
Thank you so much for posting the lovely video and drone shots. I am going to stay in Johnshaven for the month of February 2025 and it's great to see the cottage i'll be staying in from above and all the interesting places I can visit. I know it may be cold but hey........I'm really looking forward to my holiday and a visit to The Anchor round the corner...
It's a lovely place, you will have a great time
Uther Pendragon was Arthur father.. Pendragon is also known as Quetzalcoatl .. it adds up in my own personal Global Historical Records 🧬🐉 Bloodline
Does not look like a farm building. Looks more industrial
With those window's it does look a bit like a warehouse where goods would be lowered out of them. Old maps only show the farm, with the census giving the occupants of the farm so can only go off that. There are more remains around the building of the rest of the farm but not much to see. Thanks for watching
Best video of the Bolton Strid I’ve watched. So beautiful, yet so deadly.
Wow, thank you!
Wow Thank you!
This is a fascinating little church with its unique stone carved burials. I looked on a map and there is a quaint little town right next to it. That would be treat to visit. Maybe some day.
My then girlfriend's idea: with her, holding hands, I actually walked across the Solway at that point in about 1969 to Eastriggs. It's very shallow, obviously!!!!
Wow rather you than me. Bet it was tough going
Hitchcock would be. A more appropriate name! His classic film The 39 steps should have been shot there.
Not sure a submarine would fit though
That arch at the south end suggested, to my thinking, that the ground at that entrance used to be a good bit lower. It was a beautiful day when I visited a year ago. Couldn't go to the UK without a stay in my family's namesake town. Frustrating that so much of the castle was dismantled for other uses of the stone. So much of what remains is difficult to imagine now. Thanks for this overview.
Thanks for watching Andrew. You did well to get a beautiful day in England 😆 🌧 🌦 🌂 I guess the moat would be a lot deeper as well if it was dug out to its original level. Many buildings in the UK are built with scavenged parts of Castles and Abbeys etc. Thanks for watching and dropping in a comment
A Very Sacred and Mythical Place !
Thanks for watching
Actually eyri is No.8, that’s No.5 , Moel Siabod
I wasn't naming the engine, but thanks for that, title duly changed.
Thanks. I've been fascinated by crossings of the Solway for years, since discovering the history of the area, including Glen Caple, in 1968 on my bike ride from the Lakes to Cape Wrath.
Quite a bike ride. Lots of interesting things around the Solway
Really interesting, thanks
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the fascinating video... great content... best regards from Chicago
Hi Chicago 👋 thanks for watching
Actually, the river is eight times as deep as is officially acknowledged.
I guess that has to be officially verified first.

I love the place. I’ve camped out there and visited many times over the years. Lovely little town too.
Got to be one of the best castle ruins in the UK. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful video! This is 20 minutes away from my house! Always love it here but it's a bit tricky to get around in my wheelchair 😜
Thank you. Yes, it would be tricky getting around the Castle in a chair. Hopefully, I have brought it closer to you.
@@eastwoodsadventures Definitely with those tight squeezes 😁
Great tour of Dumfries and Galloway. I particularly enjoyed the Lighthouse and History.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. There are more videos on the channel in the Dumfries and Galloway area as well as further afield. More to come soon, too. www.youtube.com/@eastwoodsadventures

Beautiful drone footage. Best I've seen yet. Looking forward to seeing, someday, imaging of the topography below the surface and graphics describing it's effect on the current. Crazy stuff. Big 👍!
Thank you.
Saint Patrick Sunday 2024 Sad the Church was Locked during your winter visit/Please return on Saint Patrick Day Thank you to the commentator Today on the video titled Saint Patrick was not Irish and not a Saint who wrote about this Chapel but omitted to name Heysham near Morecambe Bay in Lancashire but still Thankfully I found it /This earliest site of wooden church built by Patrick even before Arthur Battle of Badon Early 6 Century Century in Gildas and even before Saint Gregory saw Angli / Angles and Angels in Forum at Rome
Unfortunately , I am no where near today, but I will return again to see the inside of the church. Thanks for watching
Thank you for your reply on Saint Patrick Day who I pray will bless you/After watching your video found another video on Shore website made in spring to same church to inspire you to return and it does show the inside which you may like to view and link up to your own and also adds Saint Lazarus Stone outside a symbol of our Resurrection in Wisdom which Saint Patrick prayers will bring to both England and Ireland
I've been here and while it is somehow eerie I didn't get any "vibes" of spiritual presence. It seemed very abandoned and lonely. All essence of life lived long lost.
I felt like I was being watched, but it was the sheep 🐑
I would like to believe Arthur was real and that he was a good ruler. But--it may be a lovely tale.
Probably a few tales mixed together to make a legend
@@eastwoodsadventures 👍
Been here, and loved it. It gave me chills as i touched the walls, i felt like i needed permission to enter! Very strange feeling 😟 We found part of a clay pipe dated from 15th or 16th century!
Nice find
Thanks. There's more in ANCIENT SHOCK, on the Dragons, including this one. They are NOT what they seem.
Wonderful video! I intend to visit it shortly.
Thank you, it's well worth a visit
Thank you, Sir, for giving a wonderful tour of Pendragon, which was name of Arthur's father and The flag of Wales, The Red Pendragon.
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I noticed the castle has many barrel vaults and arches. The Romans invented them.
Nearby, in The Park, at Threlkeld, above it was the mountain, "Blencathra" which means "Seat of Arthur". My mother's maiden name was Threlkeld. She passed away recently, July 8, 2022, aged 99yrs and 3 months. Her sister, celebrated 99yrs, today. Another sister is 94yrs and their brother, my uncle, Joseph Reed Threlkeld is 95yrs. I'm 77yrs.
A long lived family, thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
This river can be fully charted to it's depths. Only thing lacking I funding for such a study. Richard Branson could easily fund it.

Nice one! I’ve visited the big kiln but had no idea of the other two sites so I must visit them next time I’m up there.👍👏👏👏
Thanks for watching. It's a really interesting spot.

Nice drone footage 👍 of one of my most fav places in Cymru ❤
Thank you, yes I love it there too. Must go back this year
Would love to get out of U S for awhile 💕
Smashing video, shows up the coastline and walks really well. Stayed in the Anchor a couple times and their own airbnb round the back near the craft shop. I think you missed a trick not exploring the wee lanes around Johnshaven, it’s stunning.
Thank you. I will be back up there in April, so watch this space 😉
