Two-toned Candles Are Easy To Make With Silicone Moulds - Advanced Candle Making Technique
Thank you so much, I'm just getting started and this was my number one question!
Just an easier suggestion, when your done if there's any wax left inside you can completely turn the mold inside out to clean it better. Also you can get your candle out that way, EASILY and GENTLY turning the mold inside out. Thank you for the video!
thanks for the tip :)
Very informative ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Beautiful .What is the best to put on the bottom of the candle .not to burn the surface of table ❤
thank you! Put it on a heat safe candle plate, they are usually made of glass.
Love your tips, thanks!
you are very welcome! Thanks for commenting and letting me know you enjoy them :D
Thank you so much for the tutorial. Unforunately, my salt burns and getting brown. Is it too much oil? I bought salt for sizzler and candle fragrance oil. Thanks
You are welcome! what kind of salt are you using? what kind of burner are you using?
I am using unscented shimmering granules base - dead see salt and basic ceric burner
@@gabriellaungvari-novkov4223 does the base have any information on it about a flash point? So your salt is white and turning brown? In your burner you are using a small tealight candle? DO you have an infrared thermometer that you can read the temperature of the burner to see how hot it is getting?
Could you use a wood wic for a silicone mold pillar candle?
Don’t you add any oil before or after? Some of my moulds always break my candles 🥺
No I never add oil... if your moukda are breaking you need to cut them down the side.
This video will help czcams.com/video/2kYqUeMiKa4/video.html
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes thank you for your reply. I did it already and it keeps breaking 🥺
@@carinaferreira3098 what wax are you using?
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes O am using natural soy wax. Thank you for replying 💖
Can this be scented?
I've tried scenting the wax and it went kind of crumbly ... you know like sand in water does ... you can you just have to mix it well so that the fragrance oil isn't just sitting by the wick ... because that is dangerous and can be set alight. But if you mix the fragrance well you shouldn't have a problem :)
Hi Jess! It’s me again 😊 ok so I have a problem I ordered bags from Amazon (Kraft) but my oil seems to be coming through so that mean that the bags are not good? Help😅
This is so interesting because when I was filming this video I sidetracked down a path to where I was talking about packaging these ... I edited it out because it seemed like it needed it's own video but I had to film an into and outro for it and had not gotten around to doing so yet. I will get that video up this week. Long story short is yes those bags are no good. You can't use them :( I'm sorry (I'll explain more in my video)
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes Ok thank You!
I use a needle...i use wick thats not waxed and pull it through a needle and instead of putting a hole in the mold i just force my needle and wick through. It never gives me a hard time coming out....Just a tip :) then you dont need the tack...Then i use a wick holder that looks like a hair clip😂 i center it so it cant move and i pour.
Yes that's definitely another way to do things - thanks for sharing :)
I'm trying not to cut my molds 😢 but I'm realizing that I have no choice..😢
Don't be afraid to cut your mould! You can still use it if it is cut :D
This video was genuinely so helpful. I’ve been struggling with the placement of the molds, just couldn’t get my head around how I was supposed to fill the molds the right side up with the wick sat on the bottom making it uneven, I have been pouring them on a sort of cross grid tray that’s about an inch high with my little wicks just hanging out on the underside 😂 why I have never paid attention to the blue tack trick I will never know. Just saved this fella so so much time massive thankyou 😂
my absolute pleasure to help! This is why I do what I do - :D Thanks so much for leaving such a lovely comment for me <3 Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
What would i do if I don't have sticky tack? Can I just use tape?
You can try it but if it doesn't work get some blue tackle, it's pretty cheap
Thank You so much Jes! I can now prepare for my upcoming Popup event. I am so grateful for your help you have taught me so much as I still feel like a beginner sometimes and my customers are loving these salts. I also think that I am gonna do the Himalayan Salt for my event I have been using the regular Coarse Sea Salt but I like the pretty pink.
Oh you are so welcome! Is there anything else I can help you with to get ready? You can use the salt you are using, you don't have to switch .... I just had a huge amount of pink him salts
Ok. I will let you know how it turns out when I do the large batch .
Thank you for the great explanation. I'm going to make 75 pumpkin shape candles as a Thank you gift for a fall theme Baby shower.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad it was useful to you :)
Hi Jess! I have a question and I hope that all is well. I am making Salt Sizzlers for a popup in September so how much salt do I use for a large batch? I searched to see if you had a video and ended up back here😊 thank you in advance for your help
Hi! I can do a video on this next week for you and walk you through how to make a large batch. I want to make a few videos on how salt sizzlers compare to candle making so let me know if there is anything else you want to know about salt sizzlers okay :)
Ok Perfect! Thank you so much I am looking forward to it.
all my Wax melt customers stopped buying my wax melts because they have fallen in love with the salts.😊
@@usefulgiftsbyveronica3371 that's such a lovely thing 😍 I should have a video up by Friday at the latest ♡
Why the hell is this so chopped up
Just the way I recorded it
How long did you let the mold cool before you demolded?
I usually wait overnight just because my life is busy but you can unmould it as soon as the wax is cool to the touch. The time depends on the climate you live in and time of year. Obviously a got summer day will take longer than a cold winters day. You can unmould as soon as you feel the candle is cool, like actult touch the mould and top of the candle where there is wax exposed and see how it feels temperature wise.
How long do u let it dry for?
Until the wax is cool and hardened. It depends on how hot.or cold the weather is when you pour the candle. If you are in doubt, leave it overnight and unmould the next day. If you are just pouring the first layer of colour just let it harden and cool before you pour the second colour.
It is exactly what I am looking for. I am going to make my first candle and your video is so informative and straight to the point, just perfectly explained. Thank you so much for sharing, I just subscribed your channel to learn more from you. Thanks 😊😅
thank you for your comment! You are super welcome - I'd love to make you a video if you need any help with anything, just let me know :)
Ou are very kind, thank you😂. I have done yesterday two mini candles, I.have done something wrong, because I have big sinkhole in both. I have warmed up a bit moulds but maybe not enough or wax was to hot? I melted some ready candle (yankee), not sure what is this wax. I don't want do it for sale, just small gifts for friends. I will try again. Sorry for long post, thank you again for quick response 😊😊
@@agiagata945 you are welcome :) Yes the wax was too hot if there were sink holes in the candles. Are you monitoring the temperature when you are melting the wax? Always check before you pour and you shouldnt have sink holes in the future :)
So there is a wax called eco- soya from candle science, I might try it and mix it with bw. I just don't want to use paraffin!🕯☠️🐝
Yes that would be a great combo! I don't like paraffin either! :D
Thank you! Very informative 🙏
You are welcome! Glad it was helpful to you :D
Could you add more salt to the 20% oil to absorb some oil?
Yes of course. You can change the % of fragrance oil to less or add more salt. :) As long as the salt is scented you can't really go wrong
Hi, Thanks for all the tips. Some candle makers say that for large candles (like the one you showed) need 3 wicks. If you just use 1, which I prefer, do you need to size up to an 8 or higher?
If you want to use a big candle vessel you can either use multiple smaller sized wicks or one large wick. The size you choose depends on the wick you are using. Size 8 wick ... what brand of wicks are we talking about? Regardless of the brand you will need to do testing to make sure that you choose a wick big enough for the diameter of the vessel you are making your candle in. Even if you choose to do multiple smaller wicks you still need to test to make sure the candle burns properly and safely. I have a video on how to do candle wick testing would you like the link to it?
found your channel today and went through all of them, thank you <3
You are very welcome! Hope you found something that helped you out 😁 let me know if you need any help with anything specific and I'll make a video for you
Is there a way to fix the cooler spot once you notice it after you unmold?
You can remelt the wax and pour it again and the wax will be fine .... but there isn't a quicker solution than that unfortunately 😕
I don’t recommend a heat gun some molds will not handle it, but the freezer for 5-10 minutes will work wonders and be cleaner, but great tips
You are right some moulds really do not do well with heat. The freezer does work well especially for acrylic moulds :)
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes I know from experience lol
@@luminarygoddess8642 🤣 how many moulds did you ruin?
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes 2 but I managed to salvage the good one and trimmed off the blob 😂
@@luminarygoddess8642 I wonder what they were made out of because silicone isn't supposed to melt until 400°c and I doesn't melt it just kind of combusts. Wierd
Good to know before I tried this. Thanks for the video
No problem 👍

HI! GREAT VIDEO-I WAS WONDERING I HAVE A BIG ROSE MOULD WITH COCONUT APRICOT WAX EVERYTIME I GO TO REMOVE IT FROM THE MOULD IT BREAKS ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS!
Thank you- Your wax is too soft. You need to add a harder wax like beeswax to it to harden it. Use 20% beeswax 80% coconut apricot - it will unmould perfectly 🥰
The problem I have with my pillar candles apart from the leaking is that I have an amazing cold throw but no hot throw what would cause that x
I'll make a video about this - there's a lot to say about it :) I will work on this tomorrow :)

The 5.5 wick burned for 35 hours! 😄
You can pour a small amount of wax down and use that instead of the sticky tack stuff
Thanks for the tip! That would be kinda messy though don't you think? I don't like mess very much :)

Blue tack 😁
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes thank you

Where did the color come from
I used candle dye in 2 separate jugs to dye the wax that I used to make the candles. I have other videos on my channel in my "candle making playlist" that will teach you how to do this :)
Nice job giiirl! Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷💙🩵
Thank you!!! 😊 from Australia with my Canadian accent 😆
Very helpful videos, thank you. I find that some of my molds have bubble holes particularly in the nose and/or beard of molds with faces. So frustrating.
Do the bubbles happen consistently with your faces? Like is there a bubble in the mould itself?
