Brace yourself for a roller coaster thrill ride as you join the Tattoo the Earth 2000 summer tour of America, the most insane tour ever inflicted on a continent.
Featuring twenty of metal’s biggest bands, including Metallica, Slipknot, and Slayer, plus Filip Leu, Sean Vasquez, and the world’s best tattoo artists, these renegade outsiders pissed off all the wrong music business heavyweights but left delirious inked fans in their wake. Caravan of Pain is a rip-roaring music business underdog tale: compelling, hysterical, and cautionary. Its unique peek inside the world of music festivals, metal, and tattooing gives the reader a front row seat to a watershed time in our culture at the turn of the millennium. Told with candor and humor by the tour’s creator, Scott Alderman, and illustrated with memorabilia and never-before-seen photos, Caravan of Pain is a story of inspiration, persistence, and the dark side of following a dream.

Aerosmith? If anything hes a cross between Led Zeppelin and Rush!
“He borrowed his voice from someone I know very well” - From the man himself! 👍🏻
If Styx, Zeppelin, ELP, Joplin, Simply Red, Boston, Guns and Roses and Journey had a baby!!😂
The point is: Even LZ having stolen a few riffs, LZ became successful because of a whole new and unique style. GVF didn't steal a few riffs, they stole the whole LZ's style. They may have changed, but their success owes to LZ. There's absolutely nothing wrong in having inspirations, but what they did was copying them.
If rush and led Zeppelin had a baby.
Well, you stole stairway to heaven so there's that....
Sean from higher force was a good lead guitars Briggs was my buddy think I got him in to bad trouble with the partying !! Sober now tho
Mercedes show here!
I was just listening to Greta Van Fleet thinking that it's almost as if Josh is channeling the voice of Robert Plant. And, then, I come across this... Those kids are wonderful!!!
Can’t stand GVF. They are Zep wannabes.
Robert Plant has some good memories good ole memories, in Detroit. 😂
“They are basically led zeppelin 1” …. Nobody seems to get that he is saying they copied his band here lol😅 GVF should start again with some original material
Oh yeah, all that original material they’ve released was actually stolen right?
Robert Plant is being EXTREMELY KIND! The Lead Singer from GVF isn’t even in the same UNIVERSE AS ROBERT PLANT! To compare Led Zeppelin to GVF is like comparing the BEATLES to the OSMONDS! THERE IS NO COMPARISON!
what was the GVF song here played. I'm new to them lol
And robert plant borrowed a voice from a man named terry reid aka superlungs 😂 that being said greta van fleet is a joke
He based it off Aerosmith hahaha I cant believe that fella said that.
Errrm They are saying the lead singers voice has improved and sounds better actually. Freddy Mercury's name popped up a few times in reviews of The Master track. Love the combination of Rock music and folk music remember that genre ?? I guess we all forgot lol. Love the symbolism in the videos true showmen..just be thankful a whole new generation is experiencing and being inspired by these positve vibes from their music..its needed at this time..true bards..
You can tell that he hates them but he's trying to be tasteful about it
Robert is the grandfather of rock singers...
Hate em
Robert Plant loves this guy! Great interview.
Greta Van Fleet slaps
Yeah, I turn them off every time I hear them come on the radio no originality whatsoever they probably don’t even write those songs
Are you sure? Cause I have seen you commenting their videos multiple times so I find it hilarious that you turn them off on the radio but then you proactively comment on their music online. That would be bizzarre. And yes, they have been the songwriters and the arrangers of their music since age 12.
let him speak ffs
I hate how a lot of the bands from Michigan end up being said to be from Detroit yet they say where there from in all their interviews and then the guys who aren’t from Detroit actually claim Detroit 😂 but like bob Seger is born and raised in my home town , Ann Arbor mich yet all his info and others always say he’s from Detroit but true fans and friends / family all know
If there weren't LED Zeppelin, there wouldn't be Gretta
GVF had potential early on, but they've lost me with the last couple albums. Led Zeppelin had a way better run of albums
Considering it took five albums for Led Zeppelin to write all originals, GVF seem to be in pretty good shape Chad
Yeeeeeeeee🎉
Aerosmith? Not seeing it. He does sound a lot like Plant though
Strangely, I've always thought that Robert Plant's singing style was 'borrowed' from Janis Joplin.
Plant is just polite for kids... tough situation.
He brought them up. He wasn’t asked.
Apparently theyve never heard of led Zeppelin
Never said that
Si tienes buena voz ,puedes hacer covers o lo que quieras,la música nadie la puede encasillar. Ni Dios.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Robert...You knew Josh's mom at one time....We are all sure of it🤣
He saying I love them.
Saw Greta live in 2018 or so. Had no idea who they were just went on a wim because the name of the band interested me. If you closed your eyes, you could swear it was Robert Plant singing. They sound just like their studio records. 10/10 probably the best sounding live band I’ve ever heard.
led zeplin stole almost everything there remembered for....little hoes
Robert Plant, Geddy Lee and Triumph need to get on stage with GVF
that Greta singer is more then Plant could ever sang...
Robert Plant saying "I Hate Him" really translates to I remember what it was like to be young and touring and having fun he probably sees a lot of himself and it gives him fond memories. He has nothing but respect for them and you can tell he loves them . Ill get to see them live next month and as someone who wasnt born when Led Zeppelin were at their peak its the closest thing I will get Greta Van Fleet are brilliant and a rarity in modern music. I wish them every success as im sure Robert Plant does.
Boy they s7c@
All 1st-time bands start by doing covers. Even the Beatles. Greta is unique in that they became famous in an early phase, just stepping out of that stage. 5 years ahead, they're already different. A lesson for the Next big Thing that sounds like.
Luv u GVF, but show proper respect. !!!! Ur Lucky to be ANYTHING associated with LZ'n
what he is saying he COPIED hence BORROWED and that the band based the whole BAND IN ZEPPLIN FRAUDS THEY ARE
ok clown
DETROIT!!!!!!!
The kid sings far better than you(at his age) specially live...i think he learned more music and takes no drugs before perform.
It's called sarcasm...he has nothing but respect!
I’ve met Robert Plant and he was an absolute gentleman. People need to understand his humour here, he’s paying Greta Van Fleet a big compliment. Although I don’t think he likes Aerosmith 😂
He’s being cheeky about Aerosmith too. Led Zeppelin picked no other band than Aerosmith to give the speech when LZ were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame 😊
People in the comments fighting about whether Robert was being hateful or playful with his 'I hate him!' Is peak internet.
Wonder if we’ll be treated with Pink Floyd 1 some time soon. Now that would be awesome
