Brakes and roadside inspections: What the 20% rule means and how to keep your truck on the road
Brake violations discovered during roadside inspections have been the No. 1 out of service violation since forever but fleet operators do have a little - very little - wiggle room with the 20% rule - a rule that can keep a truck and/or trailer on the road as long as less than 20% of certain components of vehicle's service brakes are NOT defective.
In a tractor-trailer combination, you’ve got 10 brakes. So the simple math is that as long as 9 of those 10 brakes are functioning properly, and the one faulty brake doesn’t affect the rest of the truck, the truck isn’t placed out of service.

HVO is chemically identical to petroleum diesel? Then why does it have such high cetane numbers? Why does it perform so superior? Why does it produce less Nox emissions? It is interesting that the Air Nazi's at CARB have no idea. You would think somebody would pose and answer these questions? Why is it, that biodiesel blended into the petroleum diesel actually lowers the quality of the diesel fuel? When HVO is blended into ULSD in any amount it improves the fuel quality? Who are the only two players that make any money from the sale of refined liquid petroleum fuels? Once you figure that out you should be able to also figure out that neither one of those players want to see improved fuel economy. Renewable diesel is only price competitive with petroleum because the Air Nazi's at CARB are subsidizing its cost with California taxpayer dollars. You folks at CCJ should do more homework before producing this 10 44. Your explanations are very poor.

In the UK weed Vs your ability to drive is done with a roadside mouthswab by the police. This determines whether or not you have recently used, as opposed to "have used at some point". But even this isn't necessarily a determination of impairment, rather a guess based on whether you smoked recently enough for a bad swab result.

Hello. I will volunteer an impairment test for the safety of the innocent locomotive public for these ovulating idiots. Attention testing. Anyone stoned will allow their mind to escape down a tangential rabbit hole and lose focus on paying attention. Distractions that result in drivers not concentrating on all aspects of driving increase the possibility of an accident. The discipline to remain focused does individually exist. Detrimentally to such a test, medical cannabis can aid certain drivers in clarity of focus. The only true test is behind the wheel to observe impairment, if any. Conducting a live driving test is the only honest measure of cannabis impairment. ✌️

There is no way Doe could have or should have known the car behind him would try to pass on his right going into a 2 lane road. He has to watch where he’s going, and watch his trailer so as not to hit the other car waiting at the light. How could he possibly know the other car would be stupid. Plus even if he saw him just before he got hit there was nothing he could have done.
