As a Coastal California kid in the 50s and 60s I heard the term "Counter Revolutionary" many times from the avant-garde. I think Leftists wrongly use the term "Counter Revolutionary", when they support the same age old tired and re-named systems of Monarchy, one small group with total control over others. Woke isn't insane; it's evil, you say, since (in part; oversimplifying here) the destruction it causes is deliberate. Of course it is... the subversion of the cornerstones of western (and in particular American) society was the goal of the Soviet Union throughout the Cold War. They fed us lies that were designed to break our institutions, like the nuclear family, in order to destabilize our culture, to penetrate our self-confidence that served as a shield against their efforts. When the USSR fell, the west took its eye off the ball, and those subversive elements were able to step up their efforts in plain view without anyone taking it seriously. Was what the Soviets did evil? Certainly. Ronald Reagan did not err when he referred to the Soviet Union as the evil empire. But having a grounding in objective reality was an effective ward against the Soviet lies, which was why they worked to hard to break that grounding and render the very idea as problematic. Anyone who understands human nature can easily look at "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is simply the tragedy of the commons waiting to happen, and that's far from being the most absurd bit about Communism. The number and the density of errors, lies, misstatements, or whatever you would want to call them, in the Communist Manifesto, is remarkable. No one with a grounding in reality or with even the most pedestrian level of critical thinking ability would come away thinking it made sense. If you accept their premise, they win. Of course, the answer is that you're not meant to be able to win. When objective reality plays no role, you're fighting a ghost. If you play their game, they win, because it's a game where they have already (more or less) made "we win, you lose" one of the rules of that game. It's evil, of course. The people who wield this as a weapon are evil. But there are those who also believe it. They're evil in their actions, but believing any of that tripe can't ever be anything less than insane. There's no "your" reality or "my" reality. There's reality, and while none of us have a complete grasp on it, it continues to exist, unconcerned about whether or not one believes anything. I have come to think that even those who were aware that [Wokism, Communism, critical theory... you name it] was all a bunch of crap, that it was a lie (or rather a huge series of lies) to gain an advantage on the enemy, come to believe it too. They believe the things they have made up to bamboozle us. There's less cognitive dissonance that way. They are, by that stage, insane, because their narrative is insane (by design), and sane people do not believe insane things. Belief in any of these things is based on delusion and on things that cannot be objectively true, just as a person born with X and Y chromosomes and a pair of testes is male, and cannot be otherwise. There's "I accept that" and "I'm delusional, and thus insane." Only two options. Evil and insane are not mutually exclusive. They're quite often comorbid. Insanity doesn't imply otherwise.

I agree with the perspective shift, that one is obvious to me, but I don't quite get what woke has to do with Marx. In my humble understanding Marx (among other things) suggested a set of tools, that one can choose to use (or not) to analyze a society, by looking at the relationship between producers and owners. Socialism meant having worker-owned companies or co-ops, like e.g. the Mondragon with 70k employees as of 2024. Since those ideas appeal to many people they had to be subverted by the rich, powerful, and "evil" to further their goals which often are quite the opposite of the original meaning. Just like "representative democracy" -- sounds nice, let's do that! then some hundreds of years later: wait, the interests of the majority aren't represented and I don't get to have a say in the most important things! By using those terms in the way the elite intends them to be used, you play into their hand and deprive yourself of some quite interesting ideas and concepts. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm glad to hear you articulate this. The paradigm shift actually occurred for me quite some time ago, when I realized that they were attacking absolutely EVERYTHING -- not just western societal institutions and norms but even things that seemed inarguably good, such as the value and importance of truth, beauty, math, and health. When I saw that, I realized that this wasn't just the actions of some misguided or unhinged people -- it was concerted attacks at a fundamental level. And given that the people carrying out the attacks were rejecting ALL possible areas of common ground -- such as the value of truth -- then they had NO intention of making the current system better. Rather, they were intentionally creating widespread destabilization and chaos in order to ELIMINATE the current system.

That the destruction is deliberate is the only explanation that actually makes any sense.

One of the definitional transformations needed is to recognize that when lefties say 'reform' (as in 'fundamental reform' of this and that, they mean "transform" (aka destroy and replace), from the traditional Western 'democratic' (i.e., fully diverse opinions matter) to the globalist Marxist communist (top-down authoritarian).

Many "activists" seem to sincerely believe they're crusading for a good cause. They're misguided, but still believe they're doing good. This is evidenced by activists who abandon the woke ship. I'm not sure if evil is the best descriptor for most of them, but, at some point, they have the responsibility to recognize that what they're doing is destructive.

Of course, I agree with you, Mr. Lindsey it is an evil ideology. I think where the disconnect is, is in the implementation. The vast majority of the people who are doing it don’t necessarily agree or realize that the goal is to destroy everything around them. That’s where the insanity part comes, they are insanely following something without realizing it will be their own destruction

These same forces of chaos and destruction are within each of us, warring for control. We shouldn't be surprised that this is a battle between good and evil. It is familiar to each of us if we're honest.

How YOU feel is up to you. Whether the organization that hires you can effectively employ your talents is a completely different issue, and it often comes down to the personality and capabilities of your direct supervisor - can they enable and engage you and your talents in the work of the organization or not? For far too many the answer is they cannot.

i get what you're saying, but "evil" is such a poor choice of words. it's like saying its "unholy" or "black magic". some ideas are just as bad ideas, that when ordinary people hold bad ideologies it can lead to bad outcomes. just leave it as "Woke Isn't Insane; It's Just Dumb"
