Astronomers find surprising ice world in the habitable zone with JWST data

A team that includes a University of Michigan astronomer has identified a temperate exoplanet as a promising super-Earth ice or water world. The findings, led by Université de Montréal, show that the habitable zone exoplanet, LHS 1140 b, is not likely a mini-Neptune, a small so-called gas giant-large planets composed mostly of gas-with a thick hydrogen-rich atmosphere. The planet, located about...

this method of building housing using straw and mud was used thousands of years ago in Iraq and did not require a professor level but farmers and decent people without degrees used to build their own homes. I hope America in future to change the way they build their houses that can sustain for years.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is such an amazing governor. She articulates topics and ideas so very well. Being a wife, mother, daughter, sibling, and a female politician have served her well. She could soooo easily be a prime candidate for the first female President of these United States, and I would vote for her in a heartbeat! I wish we had a lot more women like Governor Whitmer in today's politics. I would almost be tempted to leave my great state of Georgia to live in a state with a governor like Gretchen Whitmer sailing the ship. Full sails ahead, and kudos to the great Governor of Michigan! SHE ROCKS! Go wolverines...and dragon slayers!

I doubt that this comment will be read by anyone at the U of M. and most likely not replied to. What about the destruction of thousands of acres of land for the development solar energy along the I-94 corridor in Western Jackson County and eastern Calhoun County? The land has been stripped of topsoil and trees, the natural habitat of the wildlife that lived there including two Bald Eagles is gone. The runoff from the recent heavy rains caused to retention ponds that were created to protect the Kalamazoo River from pollution were overflowing and flooding cross the road to the next set of ponds and then down the hill to the river. Do you protect these lands? Your words [The conservancy protects land by obtaining public and private funding to create easements and public preserves that permanently protect private land by limiting the type and amount of development on a property, and restrict other uses that would damage natural features such as rich soils and high functioning wetlands]

Question: I have a 99% chance of recovering from Covid without the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. WITH the vaccine, what do my chances of recovering from Covid jump to? With this brand new technology in vaccines and long-term side-effects unknown, is it worth injecting this, knowing that I can never undo it? We had the shortest national conversation about the risks of taking an experimental vaccine to prevent you from contracting a deadly and brutal virus. It was the lead topic in the news for a few days, after which they claimed Americans overwhelmingly agree that Covid is such a deadly disease, that a vaccine which could cause deadly heart & blood problems is worth taking to prevent Covid. HOWEVER, the CDC's info showed that Covid has a 99% recovery rate. This doesn't jive with how the media presents Covid ("...OMG, people are dying in mop closet and bare floors in the hospitals due to being overwhelmed with the sick & dying"), it jives with the seasonal flu. Why in the hell would I introduce experimental chemicals into my body knowing the dangers involved, to prevent a virus with a less than 1% mortality rate? And the elephant in the room: The vaccine does NOT protect anybody from getting Covid. Aren't you angry for being lied to and then spreading the lie yourself? You seem like a normal dude who believes science & the scientific method, why did you dispose of it all when it came to coronavirus & pushing an untested, unsafe vaccine? Did you ever call for the unvaccinated to be barred from flying, grocery shopping, or going to school? Did you ever call for vaccine passports to become the law of the land? Have you heard of the "Opioid Pandemic?" Not today but the one 30 years ago with the "Safe, effective, and non-addictive nor abusable" Oxycontin? This has caused more deaths than the Vietnam war, all caused or exasperated by pharmaceutical companies who are constitutionally incapable of telling the truth. Finally, do you believe it's appropriate for Donald J Trump to be receiving the Nobel Prize for his amazing effort of bringing the Covid vaccine to fruition?
