The lessons our kids learn by homesteading
We've been homesteading for a few years now on our property. We've learned a lot, but have a lot more to learn, so we're at the Homesteaders of America Conference in Virginia to learn more. One of the reasons we homestead is because our kids learn a lot through the experience. In this vlog we discuss a bit of what we're learning and why our kids enjoy homesteading.

Our neighbor's dogs killed all our chickens. This is how we responded.

During the night, our neighbor's dogs came over to our property, broken into the coop, and killed all of our chickens. Not a single one survived. I grew up watching these people from being like 6-7 and now I finally found them again ❤
Both my mom and my dad would let me watch TV a lot and let me play video games a lot growing up as both a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and so far i am still a very healthy person and doing well and yes i am 30 years old and still going very strong anyway i found the Internet at the age of 15 in the late spring of (2009) and wasn't sure how to join the Internet so at the age of 21 in the year of (2015) i finally managed to join the Internet and of course comment on the Internet just for fun as well:).
Lol as a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid i use to be grumpy in the morning but going into highschool helped me become a positive morning person as well:).

I feel like they do have great resources at home. Big play areas and a pool and kids to play with each other too. I love this though.
When I was a child and and growing up well into my teens, our family watched very little TV. We did have family friendly movies and a few fun/educational games for our very old computer. But that was about it. The internet, cell phones, screens as we know them today were just beginning to enter society and people actually judged my parents for not allowing me complete access to that. But because they didn't I spent the first 19 years of my life reading hundreds of books, exploring nature, using my imagination and being in the real world! Of course, the time came when I started using technology but I've always been able to maintain a balance between the real world and the one inside of a screen and that blessing came from my parents. We all know that it's best for children, especially younger children, to have little to no screen time and yet it's given to them like sugar to make them happy or quiet but it's not good for their minds and bodies. I admire you for showing that it doesn't have to be too late. It won't be easy and while mom and dad have to put in the work too, it is so worth it ❤ God Bless you all!

Hi so glad to see you missed your videos I love the ideal of homestead ing Your children are getting so big I was just talking to my daughter to about wish I could raise chickens I'm going to be 67 and live in the city I use to live in the country it was beautiful quiet and every year I had a garden. The twins eyes are ok. It’s Livia who was born blind in her eye. She can use that eye now, but prefers not to unless we patch the other eye.
