very interesting to learn about Elliott Jaques - I wonder how this applies to cross-functional teams, product managers etc and how things work when it comes down to breaking strategy > outcomes > initiatives / work etc.. e.g.rightsizing of granularity of work vs the planning horizon of the team vs leaders etc.. in start-ups I expect they are all very much (initially) focusing on just the next x months to survive etc. Quite often because we want product managers to take a broader view of their products and not just the next days, weeks, months etc.. maybe that is where we need more senior product leadership in place e.g, product leader, chief product office etc.. but I think that really depends on the size of the organisation (people wise) as much as anything else. Great episode and definitely learned something new!
