I've hit 0 miles many times, recommend 5% buffer, it's saved me many times. Headwind, colt temps and detours can zap 5%-15% buffer easily

Still gotta be careful, sometimes there's road construction with detours that can add many miles so you're kind of playing with fire

I've been as low as -1.7%. Until January of this year my regular drive home from work had a 200km stretch with no fast charging options. So I was often arriving in the low single digits. I now have a 50kW charger 60km from home I can stop at for a quick top up if required. The drives are pretty stress free now. For highway driving, when things are looking tight, I usually switch to the consumption page and select the instantaneous range projection on the 10km scale. Assuming no significant elevation changes, you can accurately see the effects of a speed reduction in real time. Slowing 10-30kph is significant when you're looking to eek out a few extra kilometers. 🙂

Short answer: No. Door seals help suppress WIND noise. A good brand of high aspect ratio (smaller rims, taller sidewall) highway tires are your best defense against road noise. The trade off will be things like handling and mud/snow/wet or off-road performance. You have to decide what's most important.
