well, it’s been one heck of a ride and this video pretty much sums up my whole exchange year in the united states!
i want to thank each one of you that was a part of making it an unforgettable experience. going on exchange was the best decision of my life so far, i’ve learnt so much in a year and i still cannot believe it’s over. so many memories fit into an 8 minute video took me longer than expected, but i hope i gave you an idea of how amazing it is to be an foreign exchange student and i would highly reccommend it :)
and yes, fyi, i am aware that there might be some words i mispronounced, but i always get nervous when in recording myself smh, so excuse that.

@@snoweIIe I am hoping to go to Canada! I have never been there before and it is outside of europe so that is also a new experience for me! But if I suddenly feel like that is too frigthening my backup plan is England :)

Hey, I normally don‘t comment on videos, but I just wanted to share my thoughts. Your video is one of the best videos I‘ve ever seen about exchange years and everything you say is to 100% true. I‘m currently spending my exchange in the U.S. I‘ll have to leave soon, but I had exact the same feeling. There are ups and downs like on a rollercoaster and it‘s really not always easy. I‘ll miss it so much (I have a few more weeks left), because you basically throw the life away you build up for yourself. I love this video so much! P.S.: I have kind of the same thing with my home country Austria. I have to explain everyone that Austria is not the same like Australia :)

Make sure to research which programs you study with. Some programs are partnered with CIEE or are partners with companies that are partnered with CIEE. someone told me that when the pandemic started CIEE relocated kids and put many Asian students in areas that had high hate crime rates. We shouldn’t support a program that supports anti-Asian hate. Please stop Asian hate
