It always feels absolutely bittersweet for any of the endings of this series, as it feels really hard to say farewell to all of these unlikely team of heroes. ...Boy, things ended on a really sour note for the Crying Wolves squad... I really, REALLY hope we do get to see Folka and the rest of the Shura again. It is incredibly fitting how Axel ends up referencing Endless Frontier, considering how he and Alfimi end up arriving at the place during the events of Endless Frontier EXCEED. The little celebration was incredibly heartwarming, and I will never stop loving when the games have moments like this. The only thing it felt odd about the ending is that, it kinda feel like the whole subplot of the ODE System was... Just kinda dropped, after the Shura made their presence fully known. One small complaint is that, they really used Portal again as the ending theme!? Its not a bad song, but the fact that you technically end up hearing it like 5 times REALLY makes it feel like its overstaying its welcome.

...To be honest, Shu being the final boss here feels a bit... Forced, for lack of a better word. And not to mention, mass produced versions of the Valsion Kai/Custom as enemies? Really? At this point in the story, the team has dealt with FAR bigger threats!

Oh men, I had heard of how absolutely daunting the Dark Brain fight is! I dont know if I myself could have gotten through this fight if I had played the game myself. And I will say, there is one detail I really like during Dark Brain's Villanous Breakdown. Its that you can see how during the biomechanical abomination's last moments on its current body. It is constantly changing back and forth between different pronouns. Showing how the hivemind is breaking apart.

Men, even though Tis was the most unpleasant of the homunculi. And I didn't particularly care for Laila. It still felt rather cruel of Duminas to just... Dispose of the creations that had such a loyalty towards their creator... Just like that. Apparently, things went a hell of a lot more differently in R. Where the Homunculi willingly sacrifice themselves to help Duminas.

The only thing missing during Alkaid's last moments, to go all out with the Fist Of The North Star references. Was for the Raha Extim to rise its fist to the sky as a reference to Raoh's "I have no regrets" pose!

Ughhh... Just like with Ouka, I really dislike that Altis did not manage to survive.

It is really cathartic to see Magnus begging for help in his last moments. Serves him right!

So this is how things end for the Crying Wolves squad... Even though we only got to really know 3 of its members, it is really depressing to think how Hugo is the only one who really managed to survive in the end. By the time the 2nd OG ends as far as I know.

The G-Compatikaiser may be a bit of simple of upgrade, but damn if it didn't feel absolutely badass!

Holy hell! I did NOT expect the mention of Code DTD/Dust To Dust! With Axel even mentioning Aschen! Even if just by her serial number!

I actually smiled when Axel and Alfimi appeared to crash Tis's plans!

When Fernando destroyed the Swordian Daggers out of his stubborn sense of pride I was like "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?"

Wait... "EX"...? Was Rob talking about... The Exbeins...? That seems to be the case! And men, I thought the Exbeins were all of a sudden introduced in the main timeline during the 2nd OG with no prior warning. But no, here in OG Gaiden we are already seeing how they have been around in the continuity of the games for a while! Also, I didn't expect the fact that Rishu used to have a special someone by his side. But she has passed away. This really makes me wish how the master who taught Sanger his skills looked back in his prime.

...Really Rai? You constantly mock Ryusei's attack names, yet you come up with the most Engrish-y attack name you can? "Galaxy Phantom Explosion"!?

Wow, Murata says how he doesnt care for who he fights. As long as they are able to give him a good fight and something that his blade can cut, yet he refuses to be defeated by a woman...

I like that Mai starts to pick up on Super Robot cliches, and she is told to stop... Just when she actually predicted the cliche in question to be true here! ...I usually don't mind Ryusei's lack of knowledge on romance, but him not noticing how asking Latooni to help with coming up with a combo attack for the R-1 and the ART-1 that will be used by himself and Mai... Really hurts Latooni to hear due to her feelings, like... C'mon dude! Get a goddamn hint already! I like Mai as Ryusei's love interest, yet this was an incredibly mean moment on part of the writers!

I was incredibly amused at how old man Kisaburo mistakes Kuro and Shiro for robot cats. Not realising that they are actual living magical talking cats. Also, men does Tis love being the most unpleasant of Duminas's homunculi.

Shouko and Folka's interactions are very nice! It makes me hope that the Shura will eventually return in whatever game comes after Moon Dwellers. ...While I did remember hearing about how a Shurashin moves by absorbing the life force of its pilot. I had no idea that this would also extend to someone else that was in the cockpit of the Shurashin. ...The fact that when Kuro talked, Folka thought that such thing meant that the rebel Shura thought that earthling cats were able to speak like people... That was priceless. The Ialdabaoth is 300 years old!? That thing is a goddamn museum piece!

Wow! Didnt expect to see Touma make more than one appearence. And the fact that Folka's Will lowered to 50 was a really neat touch. And something that I have never seen in any boss unit!

Jeesh, Mitarl makes no effort in establishing himself as a complete douchebag. At the very least, his experiments will eventually come back to bite him.

The absolute irony at Axel seeing how what the Shura are doing feels like an echo of the Shadow Mirror's action, and he isn't happy in the slightest about it.

To go with the Fist Of The North Star references with the Shura, I feel like the common Shura grunts are based on the many bandits and marauders that Kenshiro fights. Just without the mohawks.

And so we finally reach the point where the re-used content from OG 2.5 ends, and the rest of the new content in OG Gaiden starts! ...Though men, Jurgen ended up being an incredibly pathetic villain. With Duminas finishing him off as his plan to start his bootleg version of the Human Instrumentality Project from Evangelion ends as a complete failure.

I remember in this stage, pretty much going "HAHAH CYFLASH AND PSYCHOBLASTER GO BRRRR" when the Bartolls just tried to use sheer numbers to win. Wanting to destroy as many of them before moving onto the next chapter.

I always thought that Folka would be a stone cold Kenshiro-style badass, I had no idea that he was absolutely clueless about normal interactions outside of what is considered "Normal" for the Shura.

A boss that can re-cast Strike whenever his turn starts. Seriously! If they are gonna have bosses that can use Spirit Commands, give them at least the same limitations as the player so they dont feel unfair!

Ugh, whenever Tis is onscreen. She absolutely gets on my nerves. Anyways, it is at least good that now it is when Kohta finally stops trying to dodge the responsibilities of being Fighter Roar.

Not too much to say outside of the fact that, I love that this is the first time you get to see Rishu pilot the Grungust Type-0!

I will say that, even though they are not my favorite enemies. I like how they made the Bartolls move in an almost puppet-like way.

Freaking hell! The Flatfish and the Tadpoles have got to be one of the more uglier to look at OG enemies. What kind of insane person would even come to the conclusion that creating bio weapons by using the cells of an EINST was a good idea!?

I think the Mirongas are one of the few cases of enemies in SRW that bother to use spirit commands, and it is just as annoying as it sounds! Not to mention that they can use those commands as many times as they want. At least take into account the SP use damnit!

I really want to see more of Mecha Fangirl Mai, not to mention that I really would want for Burn Blade 3 to become the Gekiganger 3 of the OG verse!

Damn, Raj feels extremely cold with how he does not want ANYONE to know about the Excellence's secret regarding the Time Flow Engine.

I always thought it was incredibly irresponsible of Kohta to just, try to shove aside the responsibilities that came with becoming Fighter Roar. I mean, yeah. He is a teenager who all of a sudden was entrusted with the ability to transform into a Tokusatsu-style superhero. Along with a Super Robot that he can pilot, but he could have at least bothered to listen to his grandfather's story before going "Nope."!

...The fact that, starting from here until Chapter/Scenario 15. Things play out mostly the same as in the OG 2.5 campaign in OGs... ...It gives me the crazy theory that, maybe the OG 2.5 campaign was actually Banpresto trying to go even further beyond by straight up adding a complete new set of chapters. Until they realized that they were already pushing the game to its limits. So they had to make it its own separate game.

...I never though that Eri and Sophia actually had survivor training. Aqua commenting on Lamia's outfit is rather ironic, considering how she herself also ends up getting a really skimpy outfit during the 2nd OG.

Also, I had no idea that the Wendigo's "Pilot" was actually a disabled boy! Its a good thing Kai actually managed to spare him. Dona should be absolutely ashamed of herself for placing her son inside a Berserk Evangelion-style mechanical monstrosity, she should count herself lucky that she still alive. And, I kinda hope that there is a chance that in a future OG game. We see Tony in a better state.
