Most of my gold is pre 33, love those designs, and the history behind it is just wonderful! Most of mine I have purchased from large dealers, and since I have purchased it, it has done nothing but go up in value. I did not worry about the premium, and now they are worth a lot more than the price I paid. Started in 2009 buying for a little over spot, because there wasn't much premium then. When crunch time comes, if it does, the higher grade coins will not trade for more value, the gold will just be gold, so the lower grades will work as well as the really classy stuff. I have some of all, but my favorite is the 20 dollar double eagles!

As a beginner is it better to stack graded or non graded Morgan’s?

In 2012 I started back collecting coins again and in my case I have this love for silver dollars even going back to the early days of the raw 8 reale cobs and forward until China stepped in with fakes so this led me to certified PCGS slab Morgan silver dollars so with the eBay platform I decided to get back in collecting again, now to my surprise my LCS and coin shows mostly catered to raw coins so ebay was then my goto from that point on. Being a nut with at that time excess money I kind da went overboard buying every Morgan in AU68 and MS63 all in bright white for eye appeal in every mint for those dates along with the many different issues dealing with the 1878 releases and on. At that time everyone and I mean everyone thought I was crazy and overspend on these coins, now looking back this investment became the real deal in this coin collection. As my collection grew and as I learned more about these coins I started upgrading my MS63 to MS64PL and if proof like wasn’t available then I upgraded to MS65 and sometimes to MS66 but this was rare and very expensive. So twelve years later my investment in PCGS slab Morgan Silver Dollars has tripled in price, so to make a long story short buy what you like and don’t let others discourage you, coin collecting is definitely a long term investment.

I’ve seen a lot of the Nadir and Italio bars lately. Being new to stacking I’m wondering if one is better than the other. I’d hate to buy something with a bad stigma.
