The sad thing is that British Steel was of a very high standard quality, and the steel companies used to be the biggest employers in the area. Then steel production, like most industries in the Black Country all started moving abroad. That's when everything started to go down hill. It's sad that this is what happened to most of the big companies and foundries in the area. It's true that we are now known as a nation of shop keepers!

Tommy married Val Tonks, who went to Pensnett secondary school Tiled house lane. He also used to do some shows with my husbands mom (Betty Banks) so we knew him well, and I tell you all he was always the same a real good guy, who worked for Halesowen council as a van driver (l think ?) until he retired. Gone too soon RIP Tommy.
