4th pedal is 'placebo'. Please, do A\B blind test comparison. I did it by switching the times of both in the video (4:00 min and 6:30 min) and could not tell the difference.

Finally! An interpretation that does Justice to the score. What a beautiful rendition. The piano has much to do with it as well, though the lower register still muddies a bit with the pedal. Really captures the essence of the era in which it was composed. Thank you.

The camera panning in and out, in and out towards the end was quite amusing for otherwise quite a sombre, sincere, hauntingly beautiful piece.

I want This Piano

You played it so beautifully, congrats Rob! Clair de lune is the piece that got me into classical music (at the age of 40), I heard it one night while watching the end scene of the movie ocean's eleven and fell in love with it, the next day I bought a digital piano and started learning it. I recently bought a Fazioli F183 and it now sounds so much better thanks to this magnificent instrument. I just found your video today and it inspired me to polish this piece, thanks a lot and regards from Florida!

Hewitt is well known for her excellent Bach, but for whatever reason, she seems clueless here. The fugue is terrible, awash in rubato and meaningless emotion. Bach fugues are amazing structures, like musical Eiffel Towers, and need symmetry, precision, and rock solid timing. They should not be played like quivering pillars of Jello. This is absolutely outstanding. The last couple of years been looking for an upgrade of our studio's piano, I think than search is over!

The sound is like a hybrid of Kawai and Steinway, with the best of both.
