    Is there any sure fire way to check which type you have. Our house was rewired in 1987. I see a single socket which has only 1 wire and I can't tell if it's just a spur off the main ring. The double socket beside it has two wires. So the single seems liked it's spurred from that. Or it could just be the end of a radial as it's the furthest point away from the consumer unit on the first floor. I've checked the circuit breakers for the mains and they're all rated for 20Amp.
