    Hi there and thank you for the video! I know this may be a longshot leaving a comment here but here goes: I have a Drewtech SuperGoose and they say it will do what i need but i need some advice if you are able to: My friend has a 2012 Altima and the ECU is not recognizing one of the TPS signals and he has no throttle response. All wiring, throttle body, etc has been checked and it appears the ECU is just not recognizing the signal. So i got him a scrapyard ECU with the same service number and I'm a bit confused about the "Before ECU replacement" and "After ECU replacement" options. So i purchase the ECU file from Nissan using the VIN and then purchase Consult R2R license for 24 hours and start up the Consult software and attach my J2534 connection. I guess my question is when do I replace the old ECU with the scrapyard one? Like i said I'm also confused about the before and after ECU replacement options in Consult. Any help appreciated and I'd be willing to pay for any help you could provide (i can leave my email as a comment and then delete it later if you want to contact me). Thanks so much for your time.

      I'm personally not familiar with the D8 but it can be done with any J2534 capable device. The process shown is exactly the same regardless of what device you use. The system will prompt you to select the passthru device when connecting to the vehicle and you simply choose the one you are using. From there the process is the same. Question: The speed nut on my 07 Avalon is square. I stripped the nut and bolt by accident attempting to reattach the lower control arm. It appears to be free-floating in there inside small metal walls. Toyota says the nuts can only be part of a subframe assembly (and they have no way of finding an individual nut like this). Nut is M16x1.5 Thread Pitch. I don't have any welding tools (just a Dremel I could cut a square hole with). I think the nut will just drop free then. The bottom of the sub frame already has a hole there (a plastic cover fits into it). Since I'm working in my driveway instead of a lift, would you just do the cutting(I think I'll have to tap a piece of steel sized to the original nut shape), reassemble everything, and then take it to have the square removed piece spot welded back on by someone? Very helpful video, thanks!

    • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568 Před 11 měsíci

      This is a tough one. I think what I would do is, if the bolt is still in, cut off as much of the bolt as possible. Then try to push what's left of the bolt/nut into the frame and out of the way. You might then be able to get it out through the other hole. You could then try to get a new nut in through that hole and held in place, but it will be difficult and take some ingenuity on your part to find a way to do it. Otherwise the safest way to fix it would be to lower the subframe out and cut an access hole in the top of the subframe above the nut. This would allow you to pull it out after cutting the bolt off and get a new nut in. This would also give you a way to hold the new nut. Then you could have the hole you cut in the top of the subframe patched. I would avoid cutting on the side of the subframe as that is going to heavily weaken it even with a patch. Cutting the bottom around the nut would make it almost impossible to get the nut back in and held in the correct place while also patching it enough to keep it strong. This kinda goes without saying, but in this case the proper/safest repair would be to replace the subframe, although I understand that is more expensive.

    Just get anything but a Nissan next time... worst brand of cars and car issues that they refuse to recall but will happily send bulletins on how the issue can be corrected -by the owner and even instructions on how to do so. Took a lawsuit to get headlights replaced that almost killed people and anything within 5 feet of them at night and they still try to fight you on doing the job... went through two transmissions in less than 4 years and 38k miles total.... sends a massive multiple year/model effecting bulletin on how to remove your center console to replace the $600 gear shifter they acknowledge has an issue getting stuck in park- permanently....so they want to make sure you know how to spend that $600 and the hour + time it takes to do yourself... the right way.. cuz they aren't going to recall them and responsibility they were nice enough to let you know it's going to happen, right?! It's the damn park position switch inside the shifter mechanism that's less than $25 to replace but they will not ever admit it or even have the part available... has to be bought third party but works and resolves the issue 100% of the time... had a 2006 maxima back in 2007 and almost as nightmarish ... Nissan is trash and I'm just sad I even gave them a second chance years later only to be disgustingly disappointed. They are full of hot air like their garbage A/C compressors control valves... salvageyardwasteland

      Yes it needs to be reflashed. And you need to use this program. The reflash process programs the module to the vehicles security system and updates the software. • @apmotorsports5568

      In some cases when reflashing a module there are certain options that it has you choose from so the module knows what the vehicle is equipped with, but it doesn't exactly let you turn features on and off. Some features can be turned on and off just using a capable scan tool as well.

I’ve been on the hunt for any type of scan tool or software (how I stumbled on your video) to be able to get into the suspension control because the mag ride sucks and I want to eliminate it completely without using what’s commonly offered out there with plug in resistors that still make the air pump run or something that needs to be plugged into the OBD2 port all the time. • @apmotorsports5568
      @apmotorsports5568 Před rokem

      For what your trying to do I would say that a scan tool isn't going to work and you would likely need to go with the common kits/methods you were talking about. I believe those systems have a separate control module for the suspension system and the resistors used in the common kits are to keep the warning lists from turning on. I don't think there are any "options" to turn off that system. Atleast not that I have seen.
